"...wish I were a headlight on a northbound train..."

If it's happening, I'm going. Morrison's not very far from Boulder. By the way, the Hotel Boulderado is where Dylan stays, it is said, prior to his tours, practicing in the Fox Theater on the Hill, but I digress...

Saw the ABB in fall of 90, I believe, (maybe it was fall of 89, can't remember) with the then line up at Folsum Auditorium at CU-Boulder. Aside from really good music, seem to also recall Dickey Betts and his cowboy hat and boots and Gregg had a very large, super-sized plastic cup on his keyboard set-up. Most everything else is a blur.

Red Rocks. Kind of like Red Rover, Red Rover, sends the Allman Brothers over.

Hey Kahiki45, are you in Boulder? I was at that CU fieldhouse show-it was the first time I had seen them in over 10 years and to say I was blown away by the reformed band would be an understatement as I have not stopped going to see them since.

Not in Boulder right now, Smiling Jack, I am in the deep south. The wild west: Hawaii.

Yes, Smiling Jack, it was the Field House. I think it was called the Folsum Field House or something. Was that in Fall of 89 or 90?

For y'all in the continental U.S., you're damn lucky to go see the ABB on a regular basis.

Over here, no Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, etc.

But, hope springs eternal! Leon Russel coming this weekend! And, sometime in June, Johnny Winter. **** , I might relapse. Not likely. Second Winter.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------
I think they played the field house for Folsom Field twice, and I went to the '90 show. I had lost my love for them during the trying periods from the late 70's to '89 and did not plan on seeing them when they reformed with Warren/Alan. But a critic for the Denver paper went to a show at Red Rocks and wrote a review that started out saying he went with a bad review in mind. He then said he had to change it because it was the best rock show he had ever seen. So when they played the field house months later, I was there and have been going to shows ever since then.
Did you get to see the Gregg Allman shows in Hawaii?

"...don't ask me to be Mr. Clean, cuz baby I don't know how..."

I am all but certain that it must of been the Fall 90 show that I attended. Wow, 17 years ago! In answer to your question, yes, I did, in fact, go see GA and Friends over in Waikoloa as well as at Aloha Tower. Far-out. The band opened both nights I witnessed with "I'm no Angel." Right on and righteous.

Nice meeting you also. I too would prefer a full day of ABB family bands instead of the SCI or Yonder Mountain etc. They would sell out 2 full "Evening with.." dates not that long agao, so I don't see the need for the other bands. I am always too predjudiced against them waiting for the ABB or Mule, that I don't really appreciate them. And I am not saying they are bad.
