Hey Everybody,

Sounds like great music from the Beacon. It is exciting.

Deb, I taught the ferrets to sit upright with paws folded and I would give them a treat. That's talking. But Billy can't do that trick anymore so when he comes up to me with the "raisin" look I give him one.

Ruth, me giving meaningful advice on marriage is like Gadhi giving advice on how to cook a steak.....lmao. your advice is much better, far too often it is easy for people to walk away....not saying that it is the easy way, but it sure isnt THAT hard. The thing that stinks for me is that my ex is a good, close friend of mine, and i was with him longer than i was with my family of origin!

Linnie, I wasn't giving advice on marriage. I'm not sure I made the best decisions. But I have given up the regrets. Staying isn't always an option for everyone and staying in a bad marriage is probably not a good idea. I'm just saying I don't understand when people say, "marriage is hard work". But thanks for the laugh with the Ghandi line.

Hugs and good thoughts for all.
Ruthie

Hi all

Thank you all for the prayers, thoughts, vibes, and hugs concerning my mother.I'm going to see her tonight,so I'll know more then. She's 80,diabetic,and last time had to stop one chemo treatment short because of her heart. It's kind of weird to write that because I've always thought of her as such a strong woman. At least she's still strong in spirit, and this being the 5th time(Thank God 4 for 4 survival) this awful disease has struck my immediate family,I know how important that is.

Thinking of you all and hope everyone is well

We're thinking of you too during this troubling time. Prayers to you and yours.

Good evening, all!

Hey Rainy! Well, the interview went well. I was informed that the applicant who they offered the job to was offered another job elsewhere...and she took it. Also, I was told that the decision was between me and her....sounds good, huh? Well, I honestly think that I may get this one, but I'm not gonna start celebratin' just yet.

Ruthie, I just bet Billy is a doll! I've never owned one, but I think ferrets are just precious anyway.

Eric, congrats again, you crazy man! And I'll be seein' you a week from today! Can it be??? I'm so excited I could just.......................

Deb, I'll sure try to bring enough towels for everybody.

Up, keep us informed on your mother. Bless her heart.

T and Debi in my thoughts as always.

God help Colorado, cuz it looks like me and Sue are gonna be on the loose Labor Day weekend. WOOOHOOOOO!!

Where's the Hydrant? hehehehehehe

Ok...love all y'all!

We didn't go to the Beacon for cash reasons, so that was my first response. I sent the info to Phyllis and today she said "We have to go." so, we'll see if we can swing it somehow.

I was just on the airedale board that I am a long time member of, and someone had posted the following story after hearing one of the board member's young airdale has an aggressive lymphona, and I thought it was very nice and something all pet owners can relate to.

Why Dogs Don't Live As Long As People...

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old
Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa,
and their little boy, Shane, were all very much attached to Belker
and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would
be good the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's
family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog
for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little
boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or
confusion.

We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud
about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next
stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. He said,
"People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life, like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?"

The four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply, Speak kindly.

Leave the rest to God

Hey Eileen, she is doing ok. I don't know if I posted it here or in the Lounge, but she missed her appt by a month Which led to all kinds of ..."they called me to confirm" talk and "they think when you get old you are stupid" ...so it was a very frustrating few hours out with her, which turned into some sad time for me later in the day.

But we got through it and I guess its just a matter of time til I take over her appointments completely.

Hope to see you at another show

Ed...but you can call me Peteman

Good Morning everyone.

Eileen, Matt is my neighbor. Well, less than a 1/2 mile from me. Gush is a longtime friend and a well respected person in our town. It's been fun having Matt on board now! I feel like he's not only part of this family but part of my personal one too!

Jack, Mitzi and I are in the stages of figuring all our plans out. The place in Aspen that I stayed last year was beautiful with a number of different condo's to choose from, studios to 1,2,3 bedrooms and bathrooms. Even the most expensive is under $300 a night. I figure if we know who wants in, then perhaps we can do this together so it will be cheaper for all of us. I know their reservation policy is to pay a portion when booked then the rest a month ahead of showtime. I did this last year and believe me, I was not disppointed at all. Take a look...http://www.thetimberline.com/

Here is a ballpark figure if just Mitzi, Jack, Phyllis and I went in on the condo...most expensive is three bedroom two bath for $280 + 12.3%tax for two nights is $628.88 split between us would be $209.62 ea. The cheapest would be a one bedroom with loft and 1 and 1/2 baths, the loft could have either two twins or two queens for $215 + 12.3% tax for two nights is $482.89 split between us is $160.96 ea. Every unit has a living room with a sofa bed too so if anyone else wanted in like Tami/Spygirl is considering. She's the photographer getting many of these fine pictures of Honeytribe and others lately! Also Mike and Deb seem like they want in too so the more people, the cheaper for everyone!!!

The tickets go on sale Mon, April 2nd and the prices are reasonable...Sunday,GA - $48,
Monday,GA - $40. I am planning on making reservations there pretty soon after I get my tickets cause I know what it will be like in that area...SOLD OUT...before you know it. I would be willing to do it on my credit card and then just get the money from whoever is in once they charge me. Heck, we can even carpool too if we wanted.

Now we need a confirmation Red Rocks date so Mitzi and I can finalize our plans.

Pete.....ooops I mean Ed....giggle....yes you did tell us the story, I was just asking My mother took care of my grandmother for a long time and she started to get forgetfull also. But for my mother, it was the most rewarding time of her life. My mother was one of 6 and one of the middle children, 4th born I believe, so for her having her mother to care for was a gift I also was able to enjoy her being around so much. She was pretty spry at 97 when she passed. God bless your mom Ed

Good afternoon, my peeps!

Prayers out to Tyler and Debi, Up, Dutch, Matt and Uncle Gush, budha, ER, and Don. It's all going to be okay. I just know it.

Hey, Dad! Congrats to your son!

Sue, it sounds great to me! Count me in.

Jack, that is a beautiful story, and never a truer word spoken right there. I know I love my pups very much, and they've showed nothing to me but unconditional love.

Shout out to Rainy, Deb, Eric and Eileen...and everybody!

I've been enjoying some good ol'fashioned West Texas Springtime weather, which means thunderstorms and tornadoes. But honestly, I love days that are warm and overcast with sprinkles here and there. Very nice day today. I've got jamboree to play tonight at the nursing home where I volunteer. I haven't played my bass in a while. LOL! This could be very interesting. hehehehe Have a great day all!
