I hate seeing the elderly getting treated without respect. (We'll all be there someday, peoples, and many of those older than us have been through things like WW1&2, the depresson - stuff I can't imagine having to endure!) Your mom is lucky to have you close by to help out with this stuff, Ed.

We talked more on the way back to her asssited living facility, and she said, I guess, I'm slipping, huh Ed? I said, its a normal part of the cycle of life, but I urged her not to give into it and sit around. She said she wouldn't and I felt happy and sad at the same time.

Funny thing about my relationship with her is that I was never close to her as her attention went to other sibs for various reasons and now I'm the guy to watch over her.
A few yeras ago she confirmed my feelings about our relationship when she said to me...

I guess I should have raised you differently Ed and paid more attention to you.

One of those things someone says to you that you never forget.

Better times ahead.

Hello Everybody! Hopefully the weather where you are is as nice as it is here.

Everybody going to night, Have Fun! Enjoy the Music! but most importantly, stay safe!

One question for ya T. How did you get the username JHawke? Is that like a nickname or something, because its not like your name begins with a J. I have just always wondered that about your username.

Eric, Im in a Mule frenzy. Suddenly I can't stop listening to "Live At Roseland Ballroom". Got any Mule shows on Radio 007?

I have listened to it. Great show! I love the Gregg Version of Blue Sky, as well as Little Martha. Plus, You Can't Go Wrong With Jessica, Layla, Les Bres, and Southbound.

So Far I have:

3/11
3/13
3/16
3/17
3/18
3/21
3/23

I have about half of the shows. All of them are awesome. The 4-15 Wannee Show (No Derek) I got is awesome. I love Midnight Rider with Devon Allman.

I have a Etree Show List now. Check it out. Maybe you can give suggestions on which shows to get now.

Matt - I always figured Tyler picked this user name because he's a fan of the University of Kansas Jayhawk's. Let me know if you find out different (have been clueless many times before...

btw Matt - it has been a real joy watching your interest in the band and their music unfold! You are getting quite a set of shows in your collection!

Don - hope the injection is doing it's magic! You need to be in peak condition in one week, my friend!!!

He jumped right into Leavin' Trunk too, Derek was spot on and must have been thrilled to play with him that night.

BTW the wife has not spoken to me in two days, just went to bed at 8:30 then came down at 9:20 for last cigarette of the night, you would think with her Aunt terminally ill and her mother having a small skin cancer on the nose she would get a clue but no. Why would I poke a snake that is ready to strike, I will let her calm down rather than ask her what is wrong, I know what is wrong.

Eric, Sorry to hear about the wife. I don't have much relationship experience, but I know that girls are confusing people and will get mad at you for no reason (Pms). Hopefully things will work out between you too.

Sue- I remember you asked me about 3 weeks ago about Gush and them guys going to FLA. He left today to go. He will be back on Monday. Im not sure who went (I know that Fink went, not sure about Rocci, because I saw one of his Vans today). I will let you know how he is feeling when he returns.

It is official:

The JAS Labor Day Festival presented by Calamos Investments returns to Snowmass Town Park in Snowmass Village August 31 - September 3 with a line-up so strong you won't want to miss it: THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, BEN HARPER & THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS, JOSS STONE, GOV'T MULE, NICKEL CREEK, and THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND and SUSAN TEDESCHI. More Labor Day artist announcements will be made at a later date.

Tickets go on sale Monday, April 2nd at 10am mst. For full line-up and ticket information please visit www.jazzaspen.org or call 970-920-4996.

This is going to be a smoking weekend on the mountain. I've been to this fest before and it's great. I expect we will see an ABB show(s) at Red Rocks in this same time frame. And how about an Ogden Show.....? Mule/DTB shows as well....? The possibilities are exciting. It will be a good time to be hanging in the Rockies.

If I didn't already have plans I would so be here for this!! What a line-up. Heck, sounds like they are consistent, too - whole years JAS series is one outstanding musician after another. Wonder why they seem to prefer the Rocky Mountains to the cornfields of Iowa??? LOL

Hi Matt, Glad to hear so far so good with Gush. Getting away too, that means he's feeling OK.

Jack, this is going to be unbelievable. What about your company coming to stay? That may make it tough for you to get away? I'll be we get the Red Rocks dates too.

Banesh posted this...

This is all I know from text messages and one phone call from my son Mike (Midnight Waffle). Couldn't hear him to discuss other songs played the 1st set:

Woman Across The River
Good Morning Little School Girl
Melissa (2nd set opener)
No One To Run With

Hey to all of you. I haven't posted here for a couple of days, but I did read all the posts.
Bob, So sorry about your Mom. I will keep you both in my thoughts and send good wishes
to you.

Tyler, I have you and your family in my thoughts. It sounds like things are getting a
little better. All the best to you.

Linnie how exciting to get a brand new car. Enjoy it. You have been giving helpful insights regarding marriage.

Jack, Thanks for asking about Billy. He seems better. He is eating again and asking for raisins,
his favorite treat.

Deb, Every time I read your posts I think of Lola, your baby. Hope you are all well.

Often, and on this thread too, people say "marriage is hard work". I don't understand that.
Our marriage has lasted 37 years and I'm not saying it's a model marriage by any means. As I look back I wonder how we did it. At different times we wanted to kill each other.(I don't mean kill or harm for real). After seven years, I left with the baby. Then he asked me to come home. It was a tough decision because I was at a crossroads in my life. I had a great job offer in Atlanta that I really wanted. But I went back home.

We have each said we wanted a divorce at different times. Maybe every eight years. Neither of us actually went as far as calling an attorney. Our daughter left home after high school fourteen years ago so we could have divorced then and gone our own way. But we didn't.

He is a good man and has improved over the years and I hope I have too. I sometimes have feelings of regret that I didn't follow another path. But I don't have those regrets anymore. Now we have just retired and are planning to do a lot of traveling. We laugh a lot now and we go out a lot with friends. We have fun. We give each other space. I guess we are just used to each other and I'm not saying that is necessarily a good thing. I don't think we worked on it very much. That's all I'm saying.

Thanks for listening.

Dad, Eileen, Rainy,DZ, Matt and everyone: Hugs to you
