bummer about the job interview mitzi. be careful you dont go and wind up with a new job next week and then have to go and take off right away!

if anyone has the time or inclination, i recommend perusing through the 'Things i've Done" thread. our brother Hophead, (also the founding editor of HTN, just fyi) has some really funny stories in there, along with a bunch of other stories that are just plain funny. its an older thread but worth the effort! add your own stuff!

peace on you, and you, and especially YOU!

Sorry to hear that. I thought we'd be retiring together there!! But honestly, I know how you feel about needing a change. You know I'm feeling that way too.

I hear ya Sister! Yeah I'm bummed. They had a daycare center too. That would've been PERFECT!!

Every time Spring rolls around I get really antsy for a change. I guess it's because when I was a kid, we never did anything. I'm not joking either. No vacations...nothing. For 25 years, I lived in the same house...and did the same damned things day in and day out. I just can't stand it. Now that I'm on my own...it's turning out to be the same damned thing. YUCK! That's why I'm so glad I found this website. Now I have shows to look forward to and friends to look forward to seeing. Change can be a good thing.

Hey Linnie! Thanks. I thought about that too. I told these people that I could start work April 1. That way, I can give notice and go to the Beacon. LOL!! The interviewer even asked me about giving notice. She said that was a good idea too. I guess I just didn't cut it in other areas. Oh well. I'm gonna keep on keepin' on.

I've already contributed to that thread, btw. It's a good one. Didn't Hoppy have a story thread, too?

Hello. Mitzi, I am sorry you didn't get the job. I was really hoping you would.

I hope everyone else's day is going better.

I have car on the brain today. Good news, took Kristen's car to the mechanic. He is going to tune it up for a price that I can afford. Bad news, the big problem is the transmission we put in the car last Dec. Good news, she has a 6 month warunty on the transmission. Bad news, he is very busy so I will take the car to him and see how long it takes him. One of those good news bad news days. Oh well, life is good. T

I just realized that I am 7 posts from 1000. What will that make me?

Hi Mitzi, I'm sorry you didn't get that job. Hang in there, girl. I always figure that if they weren't smart enough to choose you, it's not the right place. There will be something that happens for you. Glad you have the Beacon coming up to take your mind off things!!! (I'm sure your mind will be on something else! )

Around this time of year, practically everyone in my town goes to Florida or Mexico. We have done trips some years, but not this one. No $$$. You get so you feel positively deprived if you aren't going somewhere but are just stuck taking in the newspapers for all your neighbors. Too bad we've just passed national "Get Over It" day, right? Cuz I think I need to get over it.

I'm trying to think of a fun driving trip I could do with my teenage son the last week of March. Preferably southward, but it's hard to get anywhere much from MN. Has anyone here visited the HOF in Cleveland?

Hello to Tyler, Jack, DZ, Linnie, Lolasdeb, Susea (the Maximum peach!), Ruth, Dad of 2, N1TRW, Eileen, Rainy and everyone else.

LaPech, I have the perfect spot. Carl Junction, Mo. Come on down. Check out the castle.

Ruthie, I hope everything goes well with your surgery.

Eric, I gotta get that 1000 post.

Quick update. Kristen's ex-boyfriend/attacker is still in jail. They have not set a trial date yet. I can't believe how close we were to losing Kristen and Skyler.

My Aunt Gayle is recovering nicely from her stroke. She has moved into assisted living. T

Hey everybody! Just a little weekend recap. We won the allstar game which was good, but we lost in the finals. 3 points too. I was dissapointed because this was my 3rd finals in 4 years. Lost all 3. oh well. Hope you all are having a good day. I'll be on sometime later, after CCD and Homework.

P.S. Congrats on The 1000 T. We should throw a partayyy!

Going the first weekend in April to Key West (brother in laws and son) for my father in laws 60th birthday party. He is paying for everything!!

Then going the 23rd to 30th to my parents in Bradenton, Sannibel, and Ft Laduedal. My Uncle (who moved there after his dad passed in 1989) has not seen the twins at all. Going to be very emotional. He and I are very close and rarely see each other. The last I saw him was 2002 at my Wedding.

Thanks everybody for the thoughts. It's a bummer, but it's gonna be ok. I'll just have to hang in there.

LaPeche, you are darn right I'll have something and SOMEONE on my mind. hehehehe

Eric, sounds like you're gonna have some good times on your April trips.

T, it's good to know she has warranty on the car. It may take a while, but it'll get done. Sorry to hear about your Aunt. I hope she's doing well. And I'm definitely glad that Kristen's ex is still behind bars...where he belongs!!

Good to see you out and about, Tyler. Nice day here and I need to get out and run errands.
Hey Matt, it is like the old saying about loving-It's better to have been to the finals and lost then not been there at all. Sounds like a pretty successful season, so congratulations.
Effie, how are you feeling? How is the NYC weather?
Sounds like you have a number of things to look forward to Eric. Have fun.
Sorry you didn't get the job, Mitzi, and I hope something different turns up.
Oh, and everyone here is invited to my house Friday for corned beef and cabbage!

I went to Key West last year. OMG I could easily live there. We stayed at the Double Tree in Key West, right next to the little airport. Made it seem very carribean

The hotel had a small bus that brought you to the beach and then into town for the night. My wife and I got on the bus to find a buy one get one drink at the Conch Republic.

The bus drops you ten feet from the restaurant. Very dangerous. Then it was on to the Duval Crawl. Try to hit everybar on Duval Street. (Like Bourbon Street In N.O.)

Hello JHawkers! Quick post before I toss this (&$)@ computer out the window here at work (oh wait, that is just me dreaming).

Tyler - so glad to hear that the attacker is still in jail and Kristen/Skyler are safe with you! Domestic violence is frightening and can turn fatal so quickly. Yea Aunt Gayle! Glad to hear she's recovering. Hope you and Debi doing well and enjoying having Kristen and Skyler with you (guessing that's a definite yes for Debi just based on her logon here!)

Mitzi - sorry the job did not pan out but have confidence something else will be coming your way instead. I know it can be miserable when you're not liking your work (see above computer tossing). Glad to hear Jolie on mend - strep throat can really get you down!

Eric - amazing job (as usual) on the tunage Mr 007! Did you ever fing that ticket you were looking for last week? Because I noticed a few new postings in the spares section for that date (some look like decent floor seats). Good Luck!

susea - you are maximuley peachy!!! You go girl! (and hoping those changes you are looking to find come through). Now about this Sparklie???

Eileen - I heard from Charlie Byrd today. He and his wife are coming in from Texas for 4/2 show and I told him I was in process of assembling cell-phone contacts for a little pre-show get together. Haven't forgotten this sister!

Linnie - OUCH!!! That hurt my toe just reading your post. Don't know what advise to give as I haven't lost a toenail, but if you do have something besides raw skin there - I'd go with the polish!

Ruthie - glad to hear Billy still hanging in there and keeping the cats in line. Delray Beach, huh? Sounds nice (and warm). I live in Midwest - it's actually starting to get nice now - in 60's today and supposed to get close to 70 tomorrow. But girl the winters they do get cold (imagine single digits and sometimes even less)! You know - I think I've heard of the Garlic Fest held in your town - it's a pretty large affair isn't it? Good luck with your surgery - thankfully you'll have some musical medicine in between to sooth your soul.

Bob - just read that John's of Bleeker Street is closed??? Hopefully they'll be reopened by end of March else I will be looking for more pizza suggestions.

Dad2 - loved the Johnny/Leon review. Glad to hear that Johnny's guitar is still on fire - haven't seen him live in over 10 years. And Leon - well, I've always had a soft spot for him and his music - LOVE IT. Thanks for sharing the review!

Jack - Glad to hear Phyllis had so much success with her show!

DZ - since you're in the food business (and any of you other NY'ers feel free to pipe in here) ... any suggestions for some good places to dine in NY (besides, of course John's of Bleeker :-)) that don't cost a fortune?

LaPeche - never been to HOF but have thought about it. Seems like there appeared to be some cool neighborhood's and places in the Cleveland area, too. Good luck getting out of Dodge...know what you mean about getting the cabin fever and needing to fly!

~waving~ to rainy, snag, and everyone else! Have great weeks! Still thinking about ER and hoping things going well for him.
