Matt, I am fine, just the normal pain.

Plus I just called Jack, which makes me feel better, especially since we making RR plans. T

I have been home all day. The wife was home Mon to Wed with ear ache. She called the day care lady who comes to the house @ 6:30 Weds night to say she was going back to work. Daycare I will be there in the am. 6am Thurs morning day care lady called in sick. Got her parents to watch the kids on Thurs. We waited for the day care to call and say she was not coming in Fri she did.

See if we call and say we do not need her, then we have to pay her. If she calls and says she is not coming then we keep the 80 bucks.

Well, Linnie, that'll teach ya not to shave those pits! I'm so impressed that you came through so much and can talk about it. With all the other bad things that happened and all. My husband's situation was interesting, too. He didn't even have a skin break, just a muscle strain in his knee. It was minor, seemed to be getting better, then much worse fast. Swelling and fever. He has Pagett's disease in that same knee, probably not a coincidence, but that led to misdiagnosis. By the time he had the fluid drained and analyzed, he was close to being too late, just like you. Then there was the hospital thing, followed by the PICC line and the 3X day antibiotic infusions for a couple of months. Quite the experience.
I don't know how we would have coped if we had also gone through tragedy, an accident, and job loss. Have you gotten your job back or found something else?
I can understand why people on the site were supportive of you, though. You surely needed it and and I can see that you are a good friend to people here. My hat's off to you.

LaPeche,

it was a MRSA staph infection - the kind that is resistant to most anitbiotics. I got it from a cut while shaving my armpits.....i belive that the MRSA stuff got into the cut somehow since i work in and out of doctors offices all the time. It turned into a lump, which scared the crap out of me (Breast cancer!), but when i went to the doctor she cut it open, stuck me on antiobiotics and sent me home.....a few weeks later, the lump came back with ten more friends.....i go off to the doctor, she takes one look, turns pale....and sends me to the hospital.

Hospital looks at it, sends me home with more antiobiotics. the next day i wake up with a 103 fever and my arm has a red line going up and down it....in addition to being hard as a rock. Go back to the hospital, where they kept me for the next 6 days. They drained the infection, stuck a PIC IV in me that i had for the next 45 days, and i had to give myself IV antibiotics twice a day. Staph had gotten into my blood, had i waited a few more hours i would likely have been dead.

The day i leave the hospital, one of my best friends informs me her son OD'd. That was awful. Four days later, on the way back from the funeral, i get into a car accident....scared the bejesus out of me since i wound up in a damn lagoon....and finally, the freaking day i go to get back to work, they laid me off.

needless to say i was a hopeless, helpless wreck, for the months of Sept and October last year. i wound up on my couch, rolled in a ball, sucking my thumb for a few days.......

but, as the song goes.....with the help of god and true friends, i've come to realize....i still have two strong legs, even wings to fly! I relied HEAVILY on this place, and as a result some started to get annoyed and i lost some people i considered close friends.

Through it all i learned alot, namely that at the end of the day - if you dont have faith you dont have nothing....and that life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

also, if you need help, don't be afraid to ask for it. those who criticize you are not bad people, they just are not the people that you want to surround yourself with. i learned ALOT of compassion those months......

i'm glad to hear your husband is OK......did he have to do the IV thing after he got out i wonder? This MRSA staph is a real plauge, and some cases don't even respond to the Vancomycin anymore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------
Linnie,
I remember cyber talking to you around then because you were down, but I never realized how bad. It so good that you are back to the upand at'em person I first met. And thanks for the DST computer help.

The trade that has apparently gone thru-Bell and Foster for Dre Bly-sounds great to me. Foster is probably too big to play the Broncos style line of quick, slashing/cutting linemen, and Bell has a couple of problems also like fumbling, injuries and some late season hesitations. He has great speed, but Denver seems to have no problem getting running backs.
I also heard they proposed a trade to Jake Plummer who allegedly turned it down and said he'd retire if they trade him.

Hello all. Tyler and Debi, thanks for the call-I know I am rarely the phone dialer (so nobody please take offense), but I always like speaking with you. Here per Debi's request is a link to my wife, Phyllis' jewelery website, Soothestone Accessories:http://soothestone.com/. Thanks for asking Debi, and if anyone likes her stuff, please feel free to pass the site along. Phyllis mainly uses the site to contact retail stores and keep inventory, but she will give anyone who emails or calls the same price as her wholesale (she treats friends and family better than the retail stores who mark up her stuff 100-200%).
Sue, happy 25th girl, you rock and please continue to do so.
Matt, I am glad you went to the trades section. Learn your way around there and you wont ever have a need to buy any more music! Maybe 2nd floor should explore there if you don't have many Beacon or other live show cd's. One thing you can always do in the trade section is start a post with ISO(in search of) a particular show. So it would look like ISO ABB 3/13/06 @ the Beacon. You'll get a response from one of the many generous traders over there and you will only need to find out if they want a BnP or freebie or trade.
Effie, enjoy your snack!

I love the Bly trade. We got a Pro Bowl cornerback for 2 players they were probably going to cut anyway and a small change in draft position. The Plummer deal was why I put the (s) at the end of trade. At that time it appeared done, but hinged on Plummer's reaction.Who's next?Patrick Kearney?Daniel Graham?Willis McGahee?I'd love McGahee but the injury history is a problem.

Thanks for the show tips.I'm aware of them, but I'm rather hesitant as right now I don't have the means(no burner, old computer) to reciprocate to others.I have a friend who says he'll set everything up for me,but it will probably be awhile until I can get together with him.I figure I'll jump in then.

JHawke Sorry to hear your fingers were bothering you today.
I hope you get better soon.

Linnie, What an ordeal you went through.
A weaker person might have given up. My grandmother used to say
God will not give us more than we can bear. Sometimes I wonder about that.
Like you said, you must have faith or you have nothing.

Keeping your faith or holding on to it becomes even more important when you
are facing difficulty in your life. Within the next 8 to 10 days I will be having major
surgery then about 4 days in the hospital. Then 6 weeks recovery.
I've always considered myself a very strong person but this scares me.

Thank you for sharing your story Linnie.

Mitzi, so happy you got your plane tickets. You definitely should be there.
How could they do it without you?

SmilingJack It's so interesting that your wife makes jewelry. I'll have to check out the web site.

Hey there to No1 and dadof2. Susea, Happy Birthday again.

Warm wishes to all of you.
Ruthie.

Thanks Eric, I dont need it tomorrow. Im not that selfish. Whenever you get the chance.

Jack- Im glad I can go to the trades section. Im already recieving a Clapton/Trucks DVD and a Freddy King/SRV double concert. It just stinks that I cant really BnP, because I dont have the transportation to get the materials I need. So for now I will settle with freebies.

Plummer says he'll retire before being traded so the question is whether he is serious or negotiating. TB wanted him as a backup-maybe he'd go for a starting job or shot at one. Ahman Green and Patrick Kearney both flew in for interviews today, while Graham's name keeps coming up. I'd sure like to see them get Kearney.
Re: the trades section. You could just do BnP's (an offer for free shows if you send blanks and a postage paid envelope-next to free), or freebies-people do offer up freebies all the time. You just need to keep watch on the trades section.

Matt, there is usually a link in the trades section to a website showing what you need for a BnP, and it sure isn't much. So take a look at it and get the big envelope and padded cd paks when you can, along with the blank discs and then all you need is postage. Bnp's are offered on other websites also, and this trades section is not going anywhere, so no rush. Just figure it out and you'll never want for music.

Thanks Jack, but I've seen more than one thread with people(granted it's not all,but some)complaining about people who get shows(I'm not talking vines)and never re-offer so I'd rather stay away than be b****ed about.

The 3 times I did get shows, they were in AG and I let them know my situation(Actually there was a 4th,but I never heard back)
