Widespread is playing in Cola Town on April 15, the day after Wanee. Is it worth the effort to go see them? I assume Jimmy Herring is still with them and I would like to see him play. I watched a song from Vegoose on The Blue Room and it was good but I do not know their music. After two days of Wanee would Widespread be good to see?

Widespread Panic is ALWAYS good to see...I can't put it any simpler than that. There is no effort involved. As a live band they are about as good as it gets...and now with Jimmy on board they are hitting new peaks. A guaranteed great time.

I can't say that a night of Widespread will be better than 2 high energy nights at wanee, but they'll bring their game faces for sure. I'm pissed for missing them this tour being with Jimmy and all... but it's just too close to Wanee for me.

And Eddie, seeing your signiture makes me want to cry... missing the beacon this year

We will all be missing you for sure Mike. Had a blast with you last year at the show and at the preshow jam/party. Nice little version of "Cissy Strut" we did. I know you will be there in spirit anyway...

Saw Widespread for 1st time last year and loved this band. Wear comfortable shoes because you will spend the night dancing! (btw - don't know if Jimmy Herring is still traveling with them but he was playing with them the night I saw them. Yowza)

Jimmy isn't going anywhere in the near future. Dave Schools said on Sirius that they've laid the blueprint down on 18 new songs written with Jimmy. There's no doubt he will be with them this entire year and probably next year as well.

Got my Pittsburgh and Cleveland tickets today. Can't wait to see Jimmy jam with the boys.

I never really felt that George fit in with the band. To respond to some previous posts, Sam Holt and John Keane did play with them in Cleveland last summer.

The show was on the anniversary of Mikey Houser's death so they played "Can't Change the Past" and it was the only time they ever played that song. If you want to hear a great song, check that one out on Panicstream. The words of that song choke me up every time I listen to it.

Rock on - I'll be at the Cleveland show too.

Anytime we can catch some live Jimmy is a huge bonus.
