Dear friends, brothers and sisters, as someone of you know, I am an italian citizen and I often used to go to USA to see my favourite band.
I've been two times at Beacon and three times during the Summer Tours (3 PNC, 1 Jones Beach, Raleigh and other places too) and i feel very lucky 'cause I have known a lot of wonderful people (YOU).
Unfortunatelly this year I won't be in NYC for the 2007's Beacon Run. I have a new house and - as u can imagine - I have a lot of costs too. I won't be in summer 'cause I will be in Galles to see a famous folk festival (green man festival).
That's why this will be a year without ABB's concerts.
I feel like I will live a year without chrismas but I will start to count the days until the next Beacon Run when I will be there!
Hope to keep in touch with everyone of you and when you will be at Beacon.....have a beer for me too!

Giovanni, your italian friend.

I really want to go the Beacon shows also but since there is a StratDal Jr. now, outings like that are few and far between so I can't make it either.

The next best thing to do is have your own concert in your new house. One afternoon or evening, invite some friends and neighbors over. Cook up some food and play some of the ABB's music. Maybe even make your own concert CD and give everyone a copy. I'm having a St. Patricks Day get together at my place and I'll be playing some ABB and other related music (Gregg's album and Honey Tribe). Hopefully we'll all be grooving and shaking our butts. At least I will!

Congrats on your new home. Enjoy!

I have heard that seven days without ABB makes one weak.

But a whole year without ABB would push me passed the brink of insanity!!

I don't think he's familiar w/ ABB. He's more into more mainstream rock and, regrettably, that electrodance music that seems so popular over there.

We'll miss you Giovanni, but congratulations and good luck with the new home.

I'll have one for you at Yogi's, the Beacon Theatre, Big Nicks, the P&G, the Jello-shot party and the Left Coast party. Will that do?

Giovanni, what is the lineup for the Green Man festival??

And, is the band PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) still around?? I was a big fan of them back in the day.

How about Nova with Corrado Rustici??

Cheers,

Derek

Hi Giovanni - posted this over in the guestbook but will add it here, too. My friends and I have our plane tix and have found a room in an old farmhouse outside of Sorrento so are planning to be in your neck of the woods from 8/31 - 9/8. Would love to meet up for drinks, dinner, music, espresso in a local cafe, whatever if you are going to be around! Will keep you posted on our plans as the time draws near and see what your schedule is like. If you hear of anything interesting musically happening in the area of Naples or Sorrento during that time period please keep us in mind. Hope to meet you, my friend, on your home soil. Good luck with your new house and enjoy that festival in Galles. Ciao!

Derek!
Yes the PFM are still producing music, they're on tour in these months with a new cd.
They were really great. I am sure they could like to many people in USA.
Corrado Rustici is a producer. H elives in California but I don't know much of him.
Hope to meet you ine day and to talk with you about some good italian music!
Giovanni
