I came across this sale on ebay this morning.

Hmmmmmm ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Allman-Brothers-Tickets-Beacon-Theatre-3-20-1st-show_ W0QQitemZ110090822712QQihZ001QQcategoryZ16122QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

" large block of tickets was purchased by a private organization for a
special Allman Brothers Band concert previewing the Beacon run, March
20 (Tuesday), at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Although the event
is largely via invitation only, the ABB was able to insist that a
limited number of tickets be made available to the Peach Corps, through an
internet sale made available *only* to them. Which means these tickets
aren't going to be available to the general public. The Allman Brothers
Band wants y-o-u and your energy there. "

I wonder is we could get some info from Lana or Kirk about this show ?

A sort of "warm up" show for the Big Run ?

might be a night to hear all the new tunes they've got planned.

Could be the Republican National Committee trying to copy what Bill Clinton and the Stones did... But I think you are right about the MSG folks- who else would have the money or desire to give a private show in the Beacon?

Over in Spare Tickets,a poster named bradg24 says it's a financial firm in NYC(doesn't name it).He seems to imply that he has an invite,so who knows?

This looks like a job for Vinsanity, with his super stealth MSG connections.

OK Jeff, time to use your sources.

what's happening on the 20th ?

I'm surprised that folks aren't upset about this
`private concert'....if I had purchased tickets in good
faith for the 22nd thinking it was opening night......
and now suddenly its not....I'd be pissed, but that's
just me. IMO, a very questionable move from the
ABB. But money talks and just about every artist does
such shows now...except for Springsteen and who
else?

What if its a Big House Benefit?

If that's the kind of thing that would upset people then they need to chill. It's like a dress rehearsal. No biggie. They'll be that much tighter for the real opening night.

I don't think it's questionable. Corporate gigs usually pay a ton of money. I think a lot of us would do it. Be kinda dumb not too.

See everyone at Yogi's on the 23rd and 24th.

OK, I called my guy. He told me that he "can't tell me anything because this is classified" however that it is NOT MSG's benefit. My best guess is if you look at the password for the sale (I don't want to say it on here, but everyone should know it / have seen it in an e-mail), that is who the "private show" is for. Again, nothing definite, just my best guess.

RobJohnson posted somewhere that this was Big House related.
