I taped eric/derek the last 2 nights on a digital recorder. loaded the files to pc and converted to .wav. used cool edit pro to convert to stereo. sounds awesome BUT, each show is now one large file. I need to split the one .wav file so it is individual tracks[ no gaps of course] before converting to .flac. this is where I am stuck. how do I get the one large file into track 1 track 2 etc?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Garry,

It's great hear that you seemed to enjoy the shows.
I always use Audacity to cut one large file into each song tracks.
Audacity is freely available software of wave editor and be able to download from following URL.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You can add lavel track to original wave racks and be able mark at start of each tunes.
After you marked all the songs, then you can write out each songs with "export multiple" command from file menu. It's very easy.
Following URL will help you how to do it in detail.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/onlinehelp-1.2/track_label.htm

Of course this software have an ability to do many sound works like equalizing, amplify and so on. I think acoustic set of Eric shows are little bit small soud level so I used amplify funciont to these songs before I write out each songs.

Also you can search another softwares with key words like as "wave editor free".

I hope this will help you a little.

Ha, 4 topics in a row. I'll get my pathetic count up yet. I just want to say how much I appreciate all the folks that work (and do have the patience of Job) on the shows to bring them up to the best listening experience possible for all of us. I just mentioned in a previous topic how time consuming I've found it to be. I tried to do song markers with Nero and created more frustration than markers.
