I don't know if this has been mentioned but I found this on the VH website, it's a statement from Ed.

VAN HALEN IS BACK!
VAN HALEN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE SUMMER TOUR
February 2, 2007
Los Angeles, CA - In what is no doubt one of the most anticipated moments in rock and roll, VAN HALEN officially announces their 2007 North American tour.

The tour will mark the first time since 1984 that original VAN HALEN front man David Lee Roth will perform with Eddie and Alex Van Halen along with new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen for 40 shows this summer.

VAN HALEN fans can look forward to legendary high intensity performances, featuring a set list of the most iconic hits ever produced by America's premiere rock band.

Eddie Van Halen states, "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made VAN HALEN."

David Lee Roth is just plain boring and un-interesting anymore and that goes for this band too ! Sorry , this reunion should have been done in 1988 . File this in the "where are they now file" .

I used to like this band .

I have always liked Alex VH's drumming.

He's a jazz man at heart.

EVH hasn't created anything worthwhile in over 20 years. His playing on that video can be heard in garages all across this country. Thank God for the guys that play from their soul like Derek, Warren and JP.

They must be desperate for money. Back in high school, they were my favorite band, but now they seem to be a shadow of their former selves. That said, I will be compelled to see them if they tour this summer and donít charge an arm and a leg for the ticket.

As an old VH fan, they should have kept Michael Anthony. That way, they could have really been the original band and they need his vocals to achieve that true VH sound. He's underrated as a background vocalist.

WTF, EVH?? That video was sad. Was this recent?? The decision to plan this tour without Michael Anthony and his harmonies proves a GREAT lack in judgement. He's obviously wrestling with some kind of substance issues.
Maybe he can show his 15 year old son how to hit the stage after a fifth of vodka, like a REAL rock star.
I may have to skip this show when it hits my neck of the woods.

As I stated in another VH thread, I will wait to hear a few reviews before I spend any money on this show when it comes to NY. I do love classic (Roth) Van Halen music. I hope they go back to that raw, unpolished, powerful sound they had before Sammy came aboard. After Sammy arrived the music seemed to become too polished and over produced even though some of the music was still good.

It was fairly recent. Apparently, Fender Custom Shop has come out with some sort of limited edition EVH Strat, like the one he used when they first broke big in the late 70's. Matter of fact, the guitar Eddie's playing in the video is one of the Fender Custom Shop models. That, in my opinion, is the only redeemiing thing about the video.

The ONLY way I'll plunk down my hard earned cabbage to see this tour is if they break down and bring Michael Anthony back into the group.

I was fortunate enough to be in ATL when Steve Gorman came back to The Black Crowes. I'd like to see MA brought back in the same way....as a BIG surprise to the crowd, making it one of those concert memories of a lifetime.

What happened to their original bass player?? Not much of VH guy so if it was something obvious (i.e. he's dead idiot) I honestly don't know.

Peace

I heard that Michael Anthony decided to go out on tour with Sammy Hagar and they booted him from VH. Since VH hasn't toured in forever, god forbid the guy tries to go out and make a living.

Rumour is that Ed and Alex are the bigges douche bags.

Ed plays from his soul, his style and his music is just different. You can't be one of the greats and not play from your soul, it would not be possible.

Believe me I get it, EVH may have played from the soul 20 something years ago but not now.
