I remember catching this when it first aired on VH1. I must've been in Jr. High. It was my first introduction to the "new" ABB lineup and I was totally into it. I've been looking for this footage for a long time and just stumbled upon this. Some VERY interesting comments made by the boys. If this has been posted already, I apologize.

Hey Mule, thank you!
I especially like Gregg's comment at the end of the program:
quote:
It should go on a pretty good while...the Allman Brother.

LOL. I think we're all thankful for that thought process.

Peace

Aside from the original lineup, the Allmans of the early-90's were the best of the lot.

Mulehead75 thanks for posting this. You have made my day! There is a beautiful light dusting of snow laying on the ground here. Although I've got to go out and work in it tonight, this morning has been wonderful. Man that video takes me back! It's all good too. Nothing bittersweet. I miss Dickey and I miss Johnny Neel, but things change and move on. "Love is all that remains the same."

This really makes me sad in a way. Isn't it a crying shame that Dickey had to ruin such a wonderful thing. Now I know I'm gonna hear a lot of crap over this, but the love and admiration that Butch shows towards Dickey is so obvious. He must have done something wrong to this man over the years to be able to kill that kind of love and respect. I know I'm always stating how great I think the present lineup is but if I could have that early lineup back with Dickey with his sh#t together and getting along with everyone I would take that lineup in a second. That is the lineup that introduced me to this wonderful band and will always be my favorite.

Peace

Pete

Daaaaaamn, I miss that line-up. RIP Woody.
If that line-up would have changed up the setlists as much as they do now from night to night, you easily would have had the greatest touring band ever.
