Here is the thread you can nominate the "Post of the Year" for the upcoming 2006 Peachies. Feel free to reference as many Posts as necessary. If someone already nominated a Post you feel is Peach worthy, go ahead and second that nomination.

We'll take nominations for the next week and a half ( until Feb 5th). A few days before the official voting period (Feb 13 -19th), the presenter of this award and I will pick the 5 or 6 Posts that received the most nominations so we can include them on the official ballot. Try and keep this bumped for the next week or so to garner as many nominations as possible. Happy nominating

As far as categories go, I've always considered this one of the "major" awards, so I'm surprised that there are no nominations yet.

We remember great threads, because they tend to stay with us for a while, eliciting responses, discussion, laughs, etc. Some of the truly great threads go on for years.

A single great post, though, might be a little harder to pinpoint. I might do a little digging over the next week or so, but for now, we've got to get this started, so I'll nominate EddieP's post, "Some Wharfstock '06 photos."

I always like the Wharfstock photos for some reason . . . maybe it's the burgers.

Windsinger for the post of her account of the Duane accident. She came to this board to tell her side and the problems with her husband was having. BDOB checked it all out legit. Worth my vote.

I would like to nominate a post of Libbys from the Guest Book just before Christmas; I feel it was instrumental in putting a stop to the nonsense that was going on in the GB at the time and putting the power of the peach back to work where it's needed ....

quote:
Much love to Bill, please take care of yourself. You are so very special to us, brother!

Be well and strong soon!

A circle of love from this site is crucial at this time... folks, please refrain from the public negative posts and personal attacks. Focus those energies on healing light for Brothers Bill, Ron, and Bobo and also Lisa Dodd. There are so many that need strength, hope and healing vibes right now.

.... let your lovelight shine.

Seconding Bobo's post:

quote:
Art Linkletter once observed that, "Kids say the darndest things." Last night I was helping my daughter Cami with her homework. Out of the clear blue, she asked me if I believed in God. I said that I did. She then asked me if I thought that God answered our prayers. I told her that, in one way or another, I believe so. When I asked her why she was asking me this, she said, "It's just so hard to believe in someone that you can't see or touch and who doesn't talk to you. And he never answers my prayers." I told her that I understood - that Faith was such a hard thing and that, of all people, God would understand when we were weak or doubtful. I then asked her if there was something in particular she was praying for. She looked at me and said, "I have been asking God for 4 years now to cure you, but you're still sick."

As you can imagine, I was floored! The only thing I could think to tell her was that, yes, I was still sick but I was still alive and that what she had told me made me feel so good and, if possible, made me love her even more - and that maybe that was God's way of answering her prayer.

Seconded. that took some balls to post, and i was proud and happy of the way it was received. not to mention it provided some details that where previously unknown to just about everyone.
