Did anyone catch Robin on his last tour from 06.I have got to tell you i have seen Robin at least 30 times since 1980 and this last tour was hands down the best i have ever seen.He played with an amazing fire and at 61 he shows no signs of slowing down.

He played songs he hasn't played in 30 years. He is currently recording some stuff with Jack Bruce.Did anyone see last years tour?

I saw him back in June. He was incredible. Just incredible. I truly hope he tours again in the US this year. I'll be there...

I saw him this past summer in Cleveland. Dickey played the same night in Pittsburgh, but my friend talked me into going to see Robin instead - I'm glad he did. Excellent show, what a fantastic player he is still.

I'm sitting on a Robin Trower vine right now from that 10-15-06 in Boston.

While we're talking about Robin. I found this import CD Living Out of Time at a record convention a couple months ago. It was recorded 9/03/05 at the Rockpalast Crossroads festival in Germany . There is also a matching DVD that I have not seen. But I can tell you that this is an awesome CD in sound quality as well as performance. Any of you who also saw him on the US tour last year will not be disapointed. Amazon has it.

I seen him last Oct. in Nashville, Tn. We got to meet him after the show. He sat in a suv and signed autographs for eveyone. There were probably 200 people in line. He was a very nice guy.

There is a repackaged cd that contains Twice Removed from Yesterday and Bridge of Sighs on 1 disk- that I got for Christmas. It brought back a lot of memories (full and partial). I'm glad to hear he's kickin' a** and if he gets to the Jersey area I'll check him out...

Trower was loud and proud this past summer tour. He was really good and it was a fun show. He could still play a stadium and have the whole place on it's feet. Personally, I think the Stones should have asked him to open for them. Talk about a good time and covering all that is Rock music.

Plus the guy plays a Strat...and only one (keeps another as backup in case of technical difficulties).

I think even Robin was surprised at the turnout and love he received this past summer on his tour here in the US. First off, they more than doubled the number of gigs when they saw the demand and the enthusiam after the first few dates. Then, some interesting stuff about halfway through, as recorded in his tour diary:

quote:
18th July 06
St Louis -- The Pageant
Really great venue, very professionally run. Another wonderful audience.

Made up my mind today, will not play Europe/UK again until something changes for me over there -- the difference in turnout and response are so marked.

And the next entry...
quote:
19th July 06
Kansas City -- The Beaumont Club
Laurie struggled to get the PA up to the mark and did not want us at sound check -- also said dressing rooms so bad he wanted us to walk in, do the show, and straight back to the hotel. Very good crowd, though -- I had good sound marred by a very loud buzz -- the worst of the tour so far.

Regarding my diary yesterday:

Unfortunately, even though I enjoyed touring the UK and Europe -- especially after such a long break -- it is not financially feasible to do it again, unless circumstances change. I appreciate that the terse announcement in the diary upset some people, and for that I apologize.

Even though there have been some angry responses to this announcement, it gives me a good feeling to know that people out there really care.

So it looks like the US really surprised Robin. I got to see him once during the tour and it will not soon be forgotten. There are so few left from that period that can still belt it out as well. He's remained true to his original vision and is still a wonder to behold.
