Ron, my cousin's husband said the same thing. I've been to a few semi pro games when Huntington,WV had a team, but am sure it will be more exciting this time around. Tampa Bay is pretty hot right now. They are on a four game winning streak with tonight's victory over the LA Kings.

Matt Cullen blows.....the third shot of the shootout, while Jagr and Straka watch from the bench. Wouldn't want to be Tom Renney today!

Got a surprise phone call this evening. I got a ticket for this coming Tuesday's game because someone can't make that game, so I'll see my first NHL game then. Tampa Bay Lightning vs the Phoenix Coyotes.

Can't do the quote thing but TSN shows the wings so much because most of their fans are from South Western Ontario. Have you noticed all the empty seats at the Joe lately where did all the wings fans go? I think George Bush shutting down the border is going to hurt the wings a lot.

Which is fine by me because I hate the Dead Things!!! Go Leafs Go!!!!
Worst mistake the league ever made (and they've made many) was killing th leafs dead things rivalry, they talk about the leafs habs but the leafs dead things was better at least for the past 20 years. The years of the Chuck Norris division solidified the hatred leafs fans have for windsor north and vice versa.

Happy Hockey!!!

Congrats on the first game, get there early and enjoy the warmup, usually can walk down to the glass (depending on your seat level) and get up close. Wicked to watch the players shoot missles at the goalie (mostly at the back-up goalie). Say hi to the great one.
Happy Hockey

Leafsfan, actually you don't need a pasport(yet) to go to a Wings game from Windsor.Just grab a Tunnel bus for a loonie and it drops you off at Cobo, short stumble to the Joe -too easy. The lower bowl( season's tickets holders ) miss lots of games at every rink in the league- the fans at the Joe are no different.Must be nice to be able to pis$ away big bucks like that...

TSN is showing Wings games because it's a good ratings draw and lots of us in SW Ontario get more from NBC in winter months of Sat/Sun afternoon games. There's more than enough for the Leaf Nation on CBC. Couldn't agree more about the screwed up sched. - miss getting a fiver from the wife every time the Wings pound the Leafs.

And with the win in Pheonix last night, the Wings are only one point behind Nashville.

Hey Jack does the name Nickolai Borchevsky still give you nightmares? Overtime Game 7. 1993/94 what an awesome series. I was at games 4 and 6 at MLG (slept outside MLG for tickets). Awesome!!!! Bet your wife remembers that series

Either folks from Windsor, Wheatly (car barn forever) and Leamington are not going to games due to hassle crossing the border or maybe "Hockey Town" ain't really much of a hockey town after all.
Most times I see the wings on TSN (more then leafs) this year there are a lot of empty seats. Can't say you see that in any CDN city (other then leaf platinum club members eatting sushi and they make it back to their seats by the 10 minute mark).

And about those 74 points, I guess If the leafs got to play Chicago, Columbus and St. Louis 24 times they'd be doing alright. Win 3/4 of those games and your sitting at 32 points. Try putting Detroit in any other division including the Southwest and see where they end up. I think last years bow out in the first round is proof of that. Blaming Legace was pathetic.
See what happens this year. I just checked out their remaining sched and of the 27 games left to play, 15 are against sub 500 teams!! yep 4 against CHI, 3 against Columbus, philly, phoenix, st. louis, LA man thats tough.
Oh yeah and there was still tickets available for the Calgary game coming up (Hockey Town???)

God I sound harsh, anyway all in good fun. I owe you a six pack of OV.

Drives me nuts what Bettman has done to the game. Idiots on the score last night were saying it was unfair that Detroit was placed in 4th due to placing of division winners in 1 2 3 spots for playoffs.
Boneheads!!! the teams in the Northwest play a killer schedule. The northwestr should be guaranteed two spots at the start of the year just based on their schedule.

Detroit and many other teams (maybe even the leafs) would be sunk playing Vanc. Colorado, Calg and Edm. Minn. every week.

Enjoy the ranting. Go Leafs (Leafs will help you out tonight by kickin the preds) Happy Hockey

I dunno Ron,the Leafs are on a win streak- 8-2-0 for last 10 and Nashville's slipped a bit. Go Leafs. Did I say that outloud? Detroit's only one point back of the Preds...

As far as the empty seats. It's usually always the lower bowl - season's tx- and other than the sushi hunters in TO maybe doesn't extend all that much to other Canadian cities. It amazes me to watch NHL games and see all those empty seats.

As far as the schedule -it's a conspiracy foisted on us by the NJ midget and his henchmen. And a damn shame when the Original 6 teams don't play at least one home & home series every season .Wings playing sub 500 teams for most of the rest of the season ? I guess I''ll see how happy I am when playoff time rolls around and the real fun begins.

The midget was in Vancouver yesterday telling everyone that he'll be around until at least 2010 and then some. What drives this guy??? $$$ He's done nothing for the game. He can't skate, never played the game not even road hockey, probably not even table hockey.
Drives me nuts. The NHL should keep Bettman as commsioner for the money and legal stuff but get a hockey guy more involved in decision making.

Is it me or does there seem to be a rise in fighting this past month? Bring it on more fights the better within reason of course Unless the leafs are playing Detroit.

Reggie Dunlop: You cheap sonofabitch. Those guys are retards.
McGrath: I got a good deal on those boys. Scout said they showed a lot of promise.
Reggie Dunlop:: They brought their **** in toys!
McGrath: I'd rather have them playing with their toys than playing with themselves.
Reggie Dunlop: They're too dumb to play with themselves! I've done enough **** work for today. What did you trade for them, a used puck bag? Boy, every piece of garbage that comes into the league, you gotta buy it.

Sorry Detroit/JAck, leafs had to lose sometime. And how could the leafs feel good about helping the dead things anyway? Better to lose out of conference games anyway, save themselves for Sid the Kid on Saturday. Leafs

Since you'll be watching the boring Devils play hockey while reading the Leafs golf scores in the paper, probably not very happy at all.

I'll take the (disc) golf course any day over watching the devils lull everyone to sleep with their painful excuse for hockey. Maybe we'll have a first round matchup to decide things. Dare to dream. Cheers
