That "C" didn't stand for cheap shot.

One of the great team leaders of all time.

And you got it right about keeping your head up.

Lindros learned that lesson too.

And who taught Langway?

Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy Lapointe on defense and Bob Gainey on how to be a leader.

All courtesy of the Montreal Canadiens.

Actually The Devils style evolved from Montreal also courtesy of Jacques Lemaire's influence. Not to mention that Brodeur is from Montreal and without him the Devils win 0 Cups.

Montreal had the knack for creating and developing those "character" players.

And the three point game in a shootout with the Rangers winning is the Leaf's worst nightmare. Wings got jobbed by the call on the goal that went behind St.Louis goalie in the shootout after the Blues got the opposite call at the other end. But if the Wings had played the first & second periods like the they did the thrird, they wouldn't have been in a shootout.

Wings vs, Ducks on TSN tonight.Keep your stick on the ice.

Hasek shuts out the Ducks.

I still say that the senators will regret not spending 1.5 million on Hasek instead of 3.5 on Gerber

Emery ended up #1 anyway.

Two guys have scored over 38% of Tampa Bay's goals. Shut them down and it's all over. Ottawa steamed over them this weekend. Ottawa is very hot right now. Have been for quite a while. One three game losing streak in the middle but last 20 games have been very solid. Buffalo better stay ahead of them. 5 points and Buffalo has a game in hand.

Pittsburg moves in on the Devils. Tampa on Atlanta. There could be major juggling of playoff spots. If NJ stays put then they get either Atlanta or Tampa. If Pittsburg passes them then NJ gets Ottawa which would be a great series. Or NJ gets Buffalo which would also be amazing. (I prefer to wait till a latter round for NJ ) If I was either Tampa or Atlanta I would be cheering for Pittsburg. Pittsburg could be had by both but NJ will take out either Atl or TB. Either TB or ATL will get the Rangers. If either Buffalo, NJ or Ottawa finishes first, they will all take care of any of the teams vying for the 8 spot.

President's Cup is also quite a race. Four or five solid contenders going for it. If I was Detroit, I would almost lose on purpose.

Vancouver and Minnesota are making it interesting also. SJ and Dallas could catch the Ducks. Detroit and Nashville are battling head to head also. Even though the teams are pretty much decided in the West, who will be playing who come playoff time?

Not a bad year over all in the NHL. Great teams, balanced scoring (not like last seasons basketball type scores because of new rules) and some real good races right till the end. Still too many penalties and blown calls but I will likely feel that way for a while. A few empty buildings which is disappointing. Boston and Chicago both bother me the most. Chicago fans are so poorly treated that it is no wonder. They rarely spend money and when they do it is almost always a waste or they don't bring in anyone for those people to play with. I wish that team had been sold long ago. Boston is a similar story I guess. Strange because Boston fans are great. They used to come to Montreal to see games. Always a few buses at evry game. maybe they still do for all I know.

But I live in Canada so the empty seats in some places don't bother me. Truth is that there are Canadian cities that would have near capacity buildings all the time. Some would still have a hard time operating but with the Cap and some good business minds it would be far more successful. Bettman and the boys will never do it sadly.

Just put two teams in Toronto.

My pal and I noticed that right from the get-go. Shame on those Wings fans who missed this game or the scalpers got caught with a mess of unsold tickets.

Great game though. I'm not for sure on this on this one, but doesn't Tampa have the win-loss record this year over the Devils, Islanders, and Ranger$..?

CM, your right about Marty and Vinnie. Shut them down and Tampa's butt is whopped. One thing's for sure, they sure don't want to see Ottawa if they get by Atlanta.

Course, I don't think anyone wants to see the Senators the way they're playing.

Devils would rather play in front of thousands of empty seats than have the Rangers come visiting at playoff time
