Rob, enjoy your trip to NYC and tell my best wishes to all fellow Loungers you'll be meeting there. And thanks for the congrats and your prayers!

We have a game called "pesäpallo" here in Finland (literally meaning baseball) and it's the national sports of Finland. The field is of different shape than in American baseball and there are some differencies in the rules. My present hometown Hyvinkää is a famous "pesäpallo" place but where I originally come from soccer was THE game to play...

BTW, I just ordered my copy of 1971-08-17 Boston Common cd. Now it's a couple of weeks waiting ahead...

Cheers!

Good Saturday Morning All!

Happy Anniversary Petri { I mean...Sir Paul! ! }!

Rob, have a great time at the Beacon! Lucky you!
Regarding baseball, I'm not too much of a fan but I watch the occasional game on tv. Enjoy the season!

This week we got our tickets to see one of our favourite bluesmen, Duke Robillard {Roomful of Blues} and Randy Bachman {The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive, two great Canadian bands } at Massey Hall on April 13. I've seen Burton Cummings but not Randy Bachman. A concert to look forward to!

Happy Weekend!

Happy Sunday All!

Zeka, our friend Nole is playing in the men's final right now and he has just won his second game. I'm sure you are watching too. So I'm cheering for Nole {especially because Canas keeps beating Rogi }. Good luck Nole!!

* Edit...Wow! Zeka, that was an awesome match! As the man said, tennis has a new star!
You must be very proud. Congrats to Nole! It'll be interesting to see what happens when Roooggeeeer and Noooolleee compete. Who will we cheer for then?!

Wow what a weekend! I am still on cloud nine.

I made it to the city by 10:00 AM and met up with WharfRat and Slammer. Then we got together with Colin and a bunch of folks from here and went to Strawberry Fields in Central Park. Then we made it to the Jam for the Cure/ HTW party. Was able to meet Derek, Susan, Devon and Lefty. Very nice people Oteil and Pedro stopped by to but didnt get a chance to meet them.

Dear Kim, thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes, I'm now older , but young for r'n'r !
In the same time we were behind TV - and, of course, I'm so happy about our young friend Noooleeee! No more words about that game, you have seen that.
Have you seen in public something like: "The next No. 1 NOLE"? I hope so...
Have a nice week, my dear International family!
Love!
Zeka (45)

Zeka, you are welcome. Hope you've had a great day!

About "the next no. 1 Nole", yes, I have heard that he wants to be #1. I think #2 would be better for Nooooleee so Roooogeeer can remain #1!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen!

Zeka, my belated birthday wishes to you. I hope you had a wonderful time!

Kim, I am ashamed and so sorry... I recently found a note on my office desk informing your birthday WAS on March 13... Very, very belated birthady wishes and tons of hugs to you. After this I hang my head and cry...

Rob, HI!!! I'm OK, just started a week-long holiday and plan to spend time with my family and recharge my batteries. I'll try to PM you one of these days as I promised and explain a little my situation. Same goes with you sister Kim.

How's our brother and friend Colin doing? He must be back from his trip to that sinful city of New Yawk... Expecting a full report in the near future

OK, it's good night to you folks. And happy Easter time!

Happy Saturday All!

Petri, thank you so much for the birthday wishes and hugs! Hmmm...I'm 45 now but like Zeka, still 'young for r'n'r'!
Please don't feel bad. If you feel bad then I feel bad and you don't want to do that now do you?! You know I love ya, bro. Please feel happy and smile!
Happy Easter to you too, and enjoy your holiday.
BTW, I agree, High and Mighty is great. Maybe makes you want to go to Sweden in June and see the band up close and live.

Hey Rob, when is your birthday?

Ok all, Kim and Sandy got an ABB show this summer!! Lots of excitement here about that. The band is playing Casino Rama for the first time. It is a casino and resort hotel in a very beautiful area of Ontario. http://www.casino-rama.com Many lakes and Georgian Bay {part of Lake Huron} nearby for swimming etc. So we're going to break the bank and take a mini holiday, and go up there a few days before the show and stay at the resort! We made reservations yesterday for Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues {show night} and then home Wed.

Also, just got word that my beloved Doors {Riders On The Storm} are playing Toronto again at The Docks on Lake Ontario May 22, so Sandy and I are stoked about that too. Have not seen them since 2005. Ian Astbury left and Brett Scallions {ex Fuel singer} is in on lead vocals. If anybody here is interested in seeing them, check out Ray Manzarek's Forum for tour dates: http://manzarek.thedoors.com They are doing a European tour as well as the States and Canada. Legendary Ray and Robby are definitely worth hearing and seeing if you can.
BTW, the tour schedule is not complete--dates are still being added.

The Masters {Golf} is on today and tomorrow . Have a great weekend!

Had a sh*tty day at the office today...i guess it's a friday the 13th kind of thing.
But just found out some great festival news which put me back in a happy mood.
have a great weekend Brothers and Sisters !!!

This is a double post from a Devon Allman related topic in the "Anything Goes" section
which might get overlooked. Maybe of interest for my European Brothers & Sisters.

I'm going to a festival this summer called Bospop (only an hour from my hometown; in the South of the Netherlands) and they just added 3 bands to an already mindblowing program. And guess who's playing?
So it's Mule 3 - Devon 2 this summer so far.
Maybe some UK brothers and sisters want to join us at this festival.
Line-up is ridiculous !!!!!! There's not a spot on the program to get a break.
I guess i have to drink, dance, drink, eat, piss, drink, eat, play airguitar and run from
one stage to the other. it's a relaxed festival so i guess that will work out fine and dandy.

Sunday 8 juli (2 stages):

Cake
Devon Allman’s Honeytribe*
Joe Bonamassa
The Yayhoos
Bonnie Raitt*
Eric Sardinas*
Paul Rodgers
Marc Ford
Gary Moore
John Mayall
John Fogerty

* latest additions. Not officially announced yet on the festival website but leaked
elsewhere. Two more bands to be added. Are opening bands so probably are local Dutch
blues or rock bands.

Hi Zeka, yes, I believe there are 32 dead including, I think, three Professors. According to reports, one of the profs was a 75 year old man who survived the Holocaust. He was shot and killed when he tried to block the shooter from entering a room so his students could jump out the window to safety.

This takes me back to when 14 female Engineering students at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal were murdered in Dec. 1989.

I'm so sorry too, Zeka.

Just found out that Devon Allman (and also Bonnie Raitt) won't be performing at this
festival. Was probably just a rumour / gossip / speculation / wishful thinking......
Bummer !!! fortunally the Cologne show a month earlier is confirmed.

Hello World

Hope you all had splendid weekend. I know I did. Took the family to NYC to see a Prelude to a Kiss on Broadway. It was really a fantastic play. It was supposed to rain. Instead it cleared up and we were able to walk around the city after the show.

We a starting to get spring like weather finally! All to short for spring. It will turn real hot soon and I dont like that. We normally get weather like this in the beginning of April not at the end.

Good evening my international friends!

It's the 1st of May aka May Day and I've had a day off from work... and had some champagne and a few beers... You see, the 1st of May is a BIG day here in Finland. It's the celebration day for all the students (= all who have graduated from senior high) and for the labour movement. So practically whole of Finland has been getting drunk during starting the previous weekend ending today! Not me, of course

Where is Colin??? Hello, I miss you! Watch your e-mail, I'll try to write you ASAP.

I still listen to Mule's "High & Mighty" a lot and think that the have done their best studio album. Excellent stuff!!! Roger, if you have new Mule shows I am definitely interested!!!

I am feeling a little dizzy right now, think I have to go to bed... Too many beers... Sleepy time time...

BTW, Finland just lost to Russia 4-5 in World Hockey Championships in Moscow. F*ckin' hell!!!

Anyway, good night you all, sleep tight.

Hi Everybody! Hope all are doing well.

Hmmm...Meatloaf and Gov't Mule at the same festival. I think I'd go see that show. I saw Meatloaf open for ELO in the summer of 1978 when I was 16 years old. At the time, I was a huge fan of the Bat Out Of Hell album {played the thing to death} and a big fan of ELO too.

Colin, Riders on the Storm {The Doors minus Jim and John } are playing The Mean Fiddler June 17, in case you are interested. {Also, a date in Scotland June 15.} I'll be seeing them May 22 and I'm really looking forward to it.

Lovin' vibes out to all...

Hello my international friends!

Kim!!! It's getting better all the time... Enjoy your Riders on the Strom concert.

The Who will be playing in Helsinki in the beginning of July but I don't know if I'm going to go see them... The Ox isn't around anymore and the ticket prices are high I'll see what I'll do... And Jethro Tull will be giving a concert here at the end of August. That might coincide with a conference in Rome, Italy so I'll have to wait and see until they have confirmed the schedule of the conference.

OK, time to go home.

Cheers!
