Petri, yes, I feel badly for you that the Mule hasn't played in Finland.

Maybe you should start a thread in Warren's forum asking them to come to Finland. We could bump it up all the time and maybe people from other areas where the Mule doesn't play can post there too asking the band to play in their area. Just an idea.

Miraculously, we did get two seats together for the Neil Young concert. Did we win the draw at the ticketmaster outlet and get first place in line and then get front row seats? Why yes, we did!

Happy Weekend All!

Would that make them a Finicky Mule?

Hello to all! And this time especially to Eileen, so nice to see you around here, too. I think I should pop in into the Lounge more often (like I used to do) but I've been quite lazy these days... Low energy level or whatever... That's why I haven't been around at all lately.

Anyway, I've been listening to some good music lately which I am in gratitude to several cyber friends of mine, THANK YOU.

Please, do me a favor and check out these links. Some groovy and beatiful music... Support the artists!

Kim, enjoy your Mule concert! BTW, I have some audio shows ready for shipping, I just have to get those Mule DVD videos copied...

Beatiful indeed, heh heh... I meant to say beautiful, naturally... But my typo was kinda appropriate.

Anyway, happy weekend, la la la la laaaaaaa...

Hello and happy Wednesday to you all!

Petri, I checked out those two links you posted. The first guy/band reminds me of Santana and the second reminds me of Sean Lennon. I enjoyed them both!
Thank you for your good Mule wishes! I really enjoyed the show, of course. Just a couple of words about the show:
Got to hear a number of my favourites including Perfect Shelter, Reggae Soulshine, Million Miles From Yesterday {that song grows on me over time}, Birth of the Mule {which I had just seen and heard a couple nights before from the Woody Years dvd you sent me! Thank you again Petri.}, That's What Love Can Do For You, and the new Dub tune Reblow Your Mind {I'm looking forward to the new Dub Mule cd...I think it will be very good.}.
Non-musical highlights include Warren's smiles, Warren telling the audience that we were "beautiful", seeing the photo of who I believe is Little Milton on Warren's amp and the new great t-shirts, especially the Soulshine "Peace" shirt and the "Canadian tour" shirt {both of which we bought}.
Lots of love to you and to everyone. Glad to see you have recovered form your malaise Petri and you are posting again!

Hey Girls ... thanks for the good wishes ... but actually the show is tomorrow night (Thursday) and I can't wait. I am very much looking forward to it ... not only for what I am sure will be a great show but also because we have developed quite a little gang of us Brits who meet up for a few drinks before these shows now.

Talking of pre-show festivities, when I went to NYC for a couple of Beacon shows back in March I had the privelege of meeting Derek Trucks at the HTN / Left Coasters Party, and I hope I get the opportunity to say hello to him again in London. I really don't expect him to remember me, even if he didn't get to meet many "Limeys" at the Beacon, as I am still one face in the thousands of adulating fans.

I also hope I get the chance to say hello to Kofi, as we actually met once before back in 2004, but I really really don't for one minute expect him to remember me, the story is as follows.....

It was January 2004 when I finally decided that the Mountain was not going to come to Mohammed and that if I wanted to see the ABB perform live then I was going to have to get my a$$ over to NYC for the Beacon. At that time I didn't post on this site, even though I had been a member (of the old site) since I first got my home computer back in 1998, but when I had problems receiving my POG with the pre-show password I posted in the Guest Book pleading for assistance. I didn't actually expect a response because as you all know at Beacon time the Scalpers come out of lurk mode and I anticipated being treated as one of those, but to my surprise Smiling Jack (who was also having PC problems) came to my rescue and I decided to come over to NYC for the final weekend of the run and meet him.

On checking out what else was going on in NYC that week, I noticed that Oteil & the Peacemakers were playing BB King's in NYC on the Wednesday night, when the ABB had a rest night from the Beacon run, so to kill two birds with one stone I decided to fly in from London on that Wednesday so that I could see Oteil as well as two ABB shows on the Fri and Sat before flying back home on Sun. All went well and I got the tickets I needed.

I duly arrived at BB King's on the evening of Wed 24th March 2004 for Oteils gig. I found myself sitting at a table on the raised area by the bar, and on the table next to me was a young lady on her own. We passed a few comments to each other between songs, nothing more than that, no deep and profound conversation as such, in fact with Oteil's set starting at 11pm jet lag was beginning to hit me hard and it was as much as I could do to stay awake!!!

Anyway, at the interval between the two sets this young guy comes along and sits with the young lady and it is obvious that they are an item. I introduced myself to the young man and told him that I was essentially in town for the ABB at the Beacon, but was really glad that I had come in early for this show as I was enjoying it so much. Nothing much more was said, and as the couple obviously wanted to chat privately I backed off and ordered myself another drink.

Then at the start of set two, this young man gets up, walks down to the front and gets up on stage with the band where he proceeds to sit at the piano and play on the next track. At the end of the track Oteil introduces him as his brother Kofi .....

So the long and short of it is that I have met and had a very short chat with Kofi without even realising it was him at the time (LOL).

As I said at the start, I am really looking forward to the dTb gig tomorrow, and if I get within distance I will give a wave to Derek, and of course to Kofi, who I am now a big fan of due to his playing in that band.

..... and HELLO to all my other International Lounge friends

Petri ... thanks for the email my friend ... I hope to get to listen to your "Wigwam" disc this weekend as I have been so busy just lately that music has taken a back seat. I'll get back to you soon with my review. I am so glad you had such a great time in Italy ... I loved Rome and Florence when I visited there ... and I had my photo taken in almost the identical spots to those photos of you that you sent (LOL)

All the very best to everyone

Eileen, thanks for the hi! and feel free to call me Kim from now on, if you like.

Colin, again, best wishes for a great show tomorrow night and thanks for sharing your story.
My experience with all the guys in DT's band, including DT, is that they are very approachable and converse with fans/friends after the show {and even before if you should run into them early}. So even if they don't remember you, after a re-introduction you will be able to have nice chats. Also, after a couple of meetings the guys do tend to remember folks.
