I personally thought last years line-up was better....Sister Hazel was miserable whe I saw them on the Skynrd Cruise and Keller Williams ...he's a cute novelty but I haven't seen a new sound from him in 5 years...Bonobos should be good and Rose HIll Drive is going to Rock some worlds...but where's the Funk or North Mississippi or the LEe Boys or Railroad Earth? The Radiators are either very on or very off ...at least from what I have seen....THANK GOODNESS FOR DEREK MULE and THE ALLMANS..I shoudln't be greedy that's enough for me ......BUt Just wondering

I too really wish Jack Pearson was coming this year. He blows my mind when he plays the guitar, but I really dig his voice too.

I don't see how one can complain to awful much. I sure would've dug N. Miss All Stars, but it appears to me that there will be enough great tunes and substances floating around to keep any tripper trippin'...............

I'm not reading any real complaining in this thread, and there's nothing wrong with wishing your favorite performers would be there. (Hey! lets start an NMAS and Wanee petition!!)

BTW...I'll probably be skipping Keller Williams....

Keller Williams....that's the name of a real estate company in town here. When did he start moonlighting as a musician??

P.S. BRING BACK JACK!!! BRING BACK JACK!!! BRING BACK JACK!!! BRING BACK JACK!!!

Go see Nickel Creek, they are great and will not be playing together much after the end of 2007... saw them at Springfest a few years back and they are awesome kids.

I was a little disappointed in this lineup and there are some of the acts that I just don't care to see this year and I will just skip them. I am wondering how the time schedules will work out this year.

Anybody going to get a VIP ticket for $300? I already purchased my ticket in the presale.

The Radiators makes it special for me, as a former New Orleans resident I would say they are on MUCH more often than off. They are a Jazz Fest veteran and a great festival band who feeds off the energy of the crowd, so I expect them to bring their A game to Wanee.

I know some folks don't like Robert Randolph as much as I do, but I love his energy and attitude and his new CD is pretty good. I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

Nickel Creek is quite possibly the best bluegrass band in the world, period. If you dig Railroad Earth, I can practically guarantee that you will like Nickel Creek. To paraphrase Warren Haynes talking about Derek Trucks a few years back, if Chris Thiele isn't already the best mandolin player on Earth, he will be soon.

And yes, Rose Hill Drive will rock That's what they do!

i looked at the perks you get with the VIP...didn't seem worth it to me, so I also bought the regular type during the presale...

Personally, I'm holding out for the Skydogs/LC&NMB/CRS package, and the various collaborations that could ensue, before we make the pilgrimage. Put me in the Jack camp too, perhaps with Jimmy and the Prisoners for a change.

Looks like next year could be THE breakout year for Wanee, with the Beacon down for renovation. The powers that be need to be planning now, as to infrastructure, duration, acts, timing. Bert, Kirk, Rachel.....think about it. My advice--get on it NOW, before EC or somebody else pre-empts again. Two weekends, perhaps, like Jazzfest? Beacon South, at least for 2008.

Was not a fan of Keller until I heard Keller and the Keels album Grass. Which has some great picking. I do recommend it some great covers on it. Plus I am a big fan of Larry Keel. You can always hope for some of that at Wanee.

The Allman Brothers Band!!!! Derek Trucks Band!!! Oteil and the Peacemakers!!! Scrapomatic!!! The Radiators!!! Yes, I'm happy!!!!!! Last year I saw Jack Pearson Band, Dumpstafunk, and the ABB. Couldn't even do Derek at midnight. May not be able to do it this year either, but it's all fine. There is just such a wonderful peace and love vibe in the park that I get happy and stay happy! Heard music at the campground, loud and clear. Thankful for that, as this old lady couldn't or wouldn't get out of her chair and walk to the stage area.

i definitely would've loved to have a little funk & soul thrown into Wanee!
But I'm not complaining!
I don't get to roqad trip that far south that many times a year anymore,so it's all good!!

Last year's lineup was great, but I think this year's is even better! We'll definitely miss the NMAS presence, but are very much looking forward to checking out The Radiators and Rose Hill Drive. Rusted Root, of course, is an ol' familiar band that will be a pleasure to see again.

As for the Jack Pearson Band ~ perhaps they already have another commitment or are unable to attend for some other reason. It may not be a conspiracy against all his fans to not bring him to Wanee this year...

Edit to add: Robert Randolph & TFB are going to be insane!!!!!!!! Great addition to the lineup.

The lineup sounds pretty good to me. If I could add anyone it would certainly be Jack Pearson and maybe the Codetalkers or ARU.

I hope the Radiators won't be playing at the same time as Gov't Mule. This happened last year on Saturday when Gov't Mule and NMAS played at the same time. They overlapped on Friday last year but I got to see enough of NMAS to want to see them the next day when they overlapped completely with Gov't Mule.

i just hope that the DTB won't be playing the same time as the Mule like in '05

i'm stoked for this, big time.

I would like to see Tony Tyler on the bill though, and even LCNMB. The audience would love to hear them i'm sure! why not have them do it Thursday?
