You know what's probably going to happen (ie: what type of photos will be posted) with this title, right? (although it would be cool to see some pics of these bygone places...how about some southern juke joints)

With 2 or 3-night ABB runs there in 01, 02, and 03, it looked like we were building a nice little tradition here, but then they upped and moved to the Rosemont of all places - I can appreciate the convenience of getting in and out there a lot easier than a venue in downtown Chicago, but still, the place (Rosemont Theater) has like no character whatsoever.

Oh well.

I wish the Brothers would come back and play the Orpheum in Boston. Enough of the Great Woods. The orpheum is small intimate and oddly enough is found at the end of an alley way. I can see a 3-4 night run at the Orpheum. Remeber this!

true that, Droog. Love the old theatres, like the Chicago and Aragon Ballroom; the Uptown in KC...kind of takes you back to another era.

damn droog, you're right, that's a beautiful building, inside and out (Rosemont Theater)! love that sign!!!

i'm just a sucker for the great old signs from liquor stores, pool halls, motels, etc. from the 50's 60's. and old vegas as well...

Bruce -Droog's photo's are of the old Chicago Theater in Downtown Chi-town. The Rosemont is a newer place built out near O'Hare airport - more of a convention center/shed layout (cement block). The Chicago is beautiful, though, huh?

Ah, the Chicago Theatre; that was the first place that I saw the ABB in August of '01; very fond memories of that show. Beautiful theater.

I thought this thread was about something else entirely:
