So far Ori has been accurate in his recollection except for it being Janis Joplin. It wasn't Scott Joplin either. It was Duane.

So, after being ditched at a remote gas station, I was faced with the the bleak outlook of hiking hundreds of miles through a desolate, unforgiving desert. As I trudged along, mile after mile, through the pitchblack night, lit only by far away constellations, after what seemed like hours, what do I see approaching from the distance but the headlights of an oncoming vehicle.

Frantically, I begin doing jumping jacks in order to grab the attention of the vehicle's driver (the vehicle was actually an old panel van). As luck would have it, the vehicle stops. The driver tells me to hop in (although I have two legs and not just one). To my amazement, who is behind the wheel that fateful night?

Duane Allman......

Just because I'm tired today and will be re-tired tomorrow, doesn't mean I'm retiring...

Bet you didn't see Super Percy and the Soul Clique Band.

Where did you see these guys? Sounds fun!

Lee's Unleaded Blues--at 74th and South Chicago.

I meet up with my college friends there once and awhile.

Super Percy's band is the house band, and anyone who wants to play gets a chance.

Lil' Ed (from the Blues Imperials) sat in for a few songs--he was there all night in the crowd.
Some of the regulars that tooks some vocals included the Arkansas Bellyroller and New Orleans Beau.
Some young Italian guy jammed towards the end as well. He was really good.

It's great fun and a very friendly crowd.

Awesome. Lil' Ed is really good. Sounds like a blast!

Heard any Mr. Ed lately????
