I am planning my trip first trip to Wanee, gonna celebrate my birthday there and needed some advice on where to make reservations to stay. As well as any other advice on what to bring or expect, any tidbits of wisdom on how to ensure a great Wanee experience is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Glad you're gonna make Wanee! I suggest you CAMP and not stay at a hotel. Hotels aren't real close by and the campsite jams and fellowship with friends is priceless!

Primative camping is included in the ticket price. You can upgrade to an RV site if you have a camper, however, not many have waste hook ups. They do have a dump station there though, and a service truck, which they charge $50 or $75 to come dump your gray and black water. There are motels nearby and you can get a list from the Wanee website. There is an onsite store (a new bigger and better store has been built since last year) and venders for food, beer, shirts, you name it. Everything you'll need is within a one or two square mile from Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park.

I slept in a tent with no door (long story). Hmm....I don't remember ants. My recollection is fuzzy at best I was at an RV site though (thanks to Bluedaddy and Big Dave) and it was worth it! This year I'm sleeping with Bluedad and Dave....I mean at their site

That's what I call a good start!! You can always count on your good brothers and sisters from HTW to help you in a time of need, also.

any four legged gators walking around at night? Any sites on the river? I love the lineup.
The more I read the more I like it....................

Sizzling filets, shrimp in the shell, baked sweet potatoes in the fire, grilled peaches and apples sprinkled with white powdered sugar, bottomless cans of beer.

Can anyone post pictures of the camping area. Is there alot of trees? I will bring plenty of firewood.

I think I am going to cancel the Beacon Run and head south. Tough to do both $ wise.....

There are open fields and wooded areas...your choice.

Basically you have to decide how far you want to walk from your campsite to the concert area. Some buds I took last year started complaining about the walk distance to and from last year, but I'm not changing where I camp.

I suppose you could camp way down by the river, but that would be a REAL long walk to the stages.

What, the stove? Or your assh*le after a night of hot dogs, beer and acid?

Yes there can be 4 legged gators in any body of water in Florida and that includes bathtubs and swimming pools.

I will keep you updated as to the weather conditions this year since I live 80 miles from the SOS. I will also be going there for Springfest a couple of weekends before Wanee so I will update on the new stuff at the park.
