I ended up in row D of the Loge for the 30th with Fig and Alec. Couldn't get two together for Fig and I for the 31st. Fig had something else to do tonight so he couldn't partake but we both are going to give it a shot on Sat for the 30th and 31st. I would rather sell the ones I just took for the Loge and get something better myself.

W4W is rockin', and we have about three months to plan this to do it right.

Ang, it's great to see you are on board for this. So is your new friend Michele for her first year! She decided this morning to join the crew. Oh baby! It's gonna be one helluva weekend, for sure. I have decided to forego the Beacon this year, as I have already set my sites on the Wanee deal for months (well, actually since the day it ended last year!!! lmao)

I'm up for a rail-ridin' good time again. Bring it on!!!! Bring it on!!!!

Ang, check your pm's.

Peace.

That's a sweet photo of Warren. He's looking pretty good these days, like's he's lost some weight. Can't wait for Hunter Mountain. Great opportunity to gete up close and see the man for myself. That is if the Women for Warren don't hog the rail...

Any word about Derek? Will he still be touring with Clapton and therefore not on stage with the ABB? I've decided that after I discover I possess the winning ticket for the Mega Millions lottery drawing tonight (currently at 105 Million), I'm going to retire, purchase a large Winnabago, and make my way to Wanee. All you crazy people are invited to stop by my camping spot. Free Booze, ganja, food, etc. for everyone! Who's in?

No not me, but I do have the info on the photo.

The photographer is Rick Diamond of Image Direct and it's from 10-27-01 in NOLA.

10-27-01 the mule did 2 shows according to mulebase:

10/27/01 New Orleans , LA Evolution Stage Voodoo Festival - Early Show
Comments: with Dave Schools and Chuck Leavell
Set: Blind Man In The Dark (1), Bad Little Doggie (1), Lay Your Burden Down (1), Thorazine Shuffle (1), Rocking Horse (2), Keyboard intro > Soulshine (2), Mule (3)> What Is Hip? (3)> Mule (3), Masters Of War > Rockin' In The Free World (4) Setlist Notes: (1) Dave Schools on bass; (2) Oteil Burbridge on bass; (3) Karl Denson on sax and Oteil on bass; (4) Audley Freed on guitar and Oteil on bass

10/27/01 New Orleans, LA House of Blues
Comments: with Dave Schools and Chuck Leavell; Late Show
1st Set: Goin' Out West *, World Gone Wild *, Fire In The Kitchen *> Beautifully Broken *, Sco-Mule *, Fallen Down *> The Other One jam *> Fallen Down *, Rocking Horse *> 30 Days In The Hole * 2nd Set: Wandering Child **, Tear Me Down **, Since I've Been Loving You **, Left Coast Groovies **> Compared To What *, Bad Little Doggie *> Blind Man In The Dark *, Mule *> Third Stone jam *> Norwegian Wood tease *> Third Stone jam *> Mule *
Encore: Keyboard intro > Soulshine * Soundcheck: Fire In The Kitchen, Miss You ***, Beautifully Broken Setlist Notes: * Dave Schools on bass; ** Oteil Burbridge on bass; *** Chuck and Dave, partial, no lyrics

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Due to Warren's hair flying around, I would guess the photo was taken outdoors at the Voodoo Fest. Show. I even recall later finding the photo on the Voodoo Fest site.
Boy I miss the annual May and October pilgrimages to NOLA. Hopefully Warren will do another solo show at Jazzfest likes he did this year. And of course another mule show, though I didn't like the venue where the mule show was. It's sad to think about the Saenger in particular. http://www.saengertheatre.com/
Yup. An those photos right above are for you girl. Got my ticket today and one for my friend from FLA, Deb, who you'll get to meet now (wthog). I just think it's a good place to hang together and finally meet everyone. Sue, how's your plans going? Jo Lyn and Michell and Krishna are in. Lolasdeb, are you in? I know Linnie is trying to get this to happen.
Who else is planning on going to the W4W@W? :-)
I know I want to go but Fig isn't. Now Todd just booked a gig of his own for that weekend! It's big money for him so business is business..blah, blah, blah. Don't really want to go alone. Going to ask another friend and see. Still trying to make this happen.
Well, if you want, you can stay with me and Deb. We can figure it out and get the space we need. I still need to make plans (and plane) for a car so we can share that too if you would like. It is unlikely I will drive to FLA from NYC. I haven't bought the air yet so we could coordinate the drive to Wanee.
I ended up getting 2 - 115 dollar tickets for the Beacon, one for opening night and one for the first Sat night. Crappy seats but I will see them. That is enough for me. Maybe I'll try for one or two better seated tickets, but I am not sure. Cause all you ladies picked the 31 publically, I didn't even try for that weekend. I'll see you at the parties though and maybe I'll be lucky and find a miracle (for me a decent seat at face).
Anyway, I figured I can see both Mule and ABB (and a number of other great bands) at Wanee and a ton of friends and get a decent GA spot, so that will be my spring fling. The Beacon costs have outweighed the benefits once I started traveling.
This thread is now dead because of the Kiss photo.
I moved the last post that was here, with some Wanee photos from 05 to the new one.
