Tickets are 54.99 - 94.99 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday shows. The 54.99 are the balcony, the 94.99 are the orchestra and the loge. Including charges, they would probably come out to be 66.50 and 107.50 would be my guess.

For the Monday and Tuesday shows, the prices are 54.99 (balcony) and 74.99 (loge and orchestra). The 74.99 would probably come out to 87 or so.

Don't know anything about hotels, sorry

I second - used to stay at the Beacon Hotel, but the last two years we stayed at the Milburn, and that's where my reservations are again this year. I like that place.

We usually stay in Midtown, that is where my wife likes best. It is about 1-1/2 mile walk to the Beacon from there. We've walked it at night after shows with no worries. The 1, 2, 3 subway train can take you to and from midtown to 72nd & Broadway.

Hotels in midtown generally seem more expensive than upper west side. I was doing some research last night and here are some upper west side hotels that showed availabilities:

Comfort Inn Central Park West AAA rate of $179-197.99
On the Ave $455 for two queen suite (cheaper rooms available)
Lucerne $380 for two queen suite

There are others that I didn't write down like Belleclaire, Excelsior, etc. Good luck.

I made Milburn reservations and they are MUCH cheaper than that, Bluedad. This was based on advise from people who have been there (and it's only 1-2 blocks away, I believe).

Hey leafsfan...any chance you're from Canuckyland ?? We're from Southern Ontario and we've been hitting the Beacon since um....2001 I believe.

Anyway, since you have the low down on ticket costs, here are some hotel links and costs, of course it all depends on where you want to stay, what type of room, day of week, etc. The ones I listed are located within walking distance of the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side.

Beacon Hotel http://beaconhotel.com/
But I suggest you call them, toll free 1-800-572-4969 or direct at 1-212-724-0839 ext. 623.
Their room rates are anywhere from $225.00 (single) - $365.00 (1 br. suite) - upwards if ya want

Milburn Hotel http://www.milburnhotel.com/
Their room rates are anywhere from $179 (1 king) - $234 (1 br.suite)

Hotel Belleclaire http://belleclaire.com/
Their room rates are anywhere from $229 (standard) - $299 (family suite)

There are the others that Nebish listed you could check out too.

Also include these when comparing rates:
- NYS tax of 13.375%
- occupancy taxes of either $4.00 or $6.00 per night (depending on room)
- hotel unit fee of $1.50 per night

There are numerous hotels in mid-town/Times Square too....oh my are there alot. We've stayed at a couple there and the prices were comparable to these but it is a hit and miss. One hotel had rooms so small that the door hit the bed when you opened it

Good luck and hope you make the trip....and if so, would you be flying in ?? Travel to/from airport is a whole 'nuther ball game

Later, Karen

Last time I pricelined and got a room at the Waldorf for $98 plus the priceline fees I think it was like $119 or something like that. Not cheap but not bad for NYC

If you like a BIG room with a kitchen and living room try the Off Soho Suites Hotel. It is in a great location right in the middle of the Lower East Side, Little Italy, the East Village and Chinatown. It is also a 10 minute walk to the oldest continuously operating bar in NYC----> McSorley's Old Ale House at 15 East 7th Street

I like "On the Avenue" if the beacon is full
right arround the corner from the beacon a block up.

nice rooms, friendly staff

a bit pricey $299 for the smallest room.

but they had some good deals on travelocity last year. haven't checked this year yet.

Beacon is full up on the weekends already

I stayed at " On The Ave " last year for $177 a night. I used Hotels.com. The room was smal lbut was very clean and the king size bed was very comfortable . It's about 3 blocks north of the Beacon and on the same side of the street. Nice place, I'd stay there again. But if you want the action and parties stay at the Beacon.
