Does that Include pre-sale also? Because all the staff writer mentions is general sales.

Are there ever?

Remember Kirk's post last year about the tickets the band gets?

Are you serious or sarcastic?

Last year as we were all grumbling about lack of seats available in front of Row P Orch. Kirk posted in length in the AG and GB about the number of people with or in the band that get tickets.

Here's Kirk's post:

heres the dealio kids-- the beacon holds 2865 without standing room tix. which there will be NONE this year. the band holds 200-300 each show for guests of the band, radio and tv winners or ad trades, media revuers and basketbal players that stand in front of ya and block your view. so thats 10% of the total seats that ARE NOT sold to the public. no tickets are held by the promoter or venue or union or ascap/bmi/cia/tva/fbi/atf/dea,etc. the beacon run is a real big deal out in the world, not just in our little mushroom bubble land. so demand is pretty amazing. tickets are very reasonable for nyc concerts and it has beacome a world wide destination event for music fans. all in all i think lana and roland and bert and stacey and i do a pretty good job of dealing with this whole thing and we ONLY do this because we care about the fans cause its a pain in the butt and we could make ALOT more money just jackin up the price and and lettin the wolves in the front door. so i/we are sorry if you dont all get what you want/deserve/have comin or your momma told ya you would get cause youre her best little man, but we all are just tryin to make a livin and doin the best we can. seeya all on 75th and broadway

My experience the past couple of years has been the pre-sale tickets have been mostly loge and balconies. In the public sale, even by getting into TM right away, I could not get tickets up front. Keeping the good seats for phone sales seems like a good idea, since it levels the playing field- scalpers have to call in just like we do.

Also Kirk noted that a descent amount of VERY GOOD seats "drop" just days before the show.
So if ya don't get what ya want in pre-sale, and it seems to get worse every year. There is the second possibility of regular sale/ phone and lastly and this sucks for people that come from far away, but you can look for tix just days prior to shows .

I had great luck with the 3rd option last year. I picked up rowa pair in B ( after the double letters) for closing night , 3 days before the show.

This information coupled with the current ebay listings for tickets (one scalper listing pairs in orch row 10, 8, 9, 8 - all different nights) has me concerned that first 10 row orch tickets will be near impossible to get for us fans. Scaplers and TM seem to work hand in hand sometimes to screw us. I hope I'm wrong. I guess we wil find out.

I might have my wife try the phones and I'll do the web.

The presale is a pain in the ass for all concerned,at least there is a presale,so if your not up front at least your in the house, let's not start whining as we all know your not getting front row seats during the presale .

Not meaning to whine Neil - I agree, at least there IS a presale (and I'm mostly concerned with just getting a ticket)! Always used to enjoy the presale feature when GD were touring. The thought of seeing $600 tickets being hawked on internet before sale has begun does turn me off - especially when band is charging $100 tops. There, done with rant.

What makes me so mad is that Lana works so hard to prevent this type of thing from happening and someone on the "inside" (MSG or TM) gets paid to give the scalpers tickets before they go on sale....or MSG or TM owns this scalping company, thus another win-win situation for them. Only thing is that it is SO big that you cannot fight them.

I'll be happy if center section orchestra is available to me - presale or regular sale.

Well, I'll be happy with any tickets I get.

people, the pre sale has changed because of the amount of people that have joined the site through the yrs. so the odds on getting really good seats diminish big time the lats few yrs. I actually got better seats during the regular on sale last yr. All I am saying is go in with all of this in mind tonight so you dont freak when 1st row does not come up.

Scalping sucks but its a fact of life in the music business, entertainment and sports these days. Nothing is going to be said that will change that

People should buy tickets if they are going or not and then sell them for cost to friends where you live or here,I have done that for the last few runs and it's my way of sticking it to the scalpers. At least your friends get inthe door atcost ifyou cannot go!

First row lower balcony are some good seats, especially for those who like to sit and watch the show,I do not need floor seats to be happy at the Beacon.

Good luck getting seats and enjoy the Beacon run, you never know if the next year is a guarantee so enjoy

Well I'll take what we can get...we've sat everywhere in the Beacon Theater and more than likely we will again.

CBN...I hear what you are saying and what befuddels me is that these outlets have tickets for sale and they aren't even on sale yet....presale or regular sale. Oh well it's only rock and roll I hope you can make the trip Cowboy...be great to meet you (finally)

Kudos out to all that make a pre-sale possible...we'll be giving it a whirl tonight

Later, Karen
