My wife's grandmother passed away early this morning at the age of 96. I had a thread for her in "Healing Vibes" when we learned she had leukemia. Congestive heart failure is what actually took her. Of course, we are sad to see her go, but 96 years is a good, long life, and she was never infirm. We have that to be thankful for. She was a real sweetheart. God bless you Beulah Metheny. Rest In Peace.

My condolonces to your wife and family, Dave. 96 years? She got a long ride on that ticket! I'm sure that she must have given and gotten a lot of love during that span. No more pain in Heaven!

Sincere condolences Dave . . . but as you say, 96 years with no infirmity is one sweet life . . . and it sounds as if she will be remembered fondly for a long time to come.

Best wishes to you and your Wife

God looked around His garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. Godís garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you But you didnít go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home.

RIP Beulah Metheny

Prayers and thoughts with you and your family at this time Big Dave

big guy, i'm sorry! when something like this happens to our inlaws, often we are left holding the family together to a certain extent. the loss manifests itself in us, as well, but to a lesser extent perhaps. all you can do is morn the loss on your own, and be there for your wife and her family.

Dave and family, sorry about the loss.
Close to 100 years. That woman saw some dramatic changes in civilization over her lifetime.
RIP Grandma Metheny.

All my family's best wishes and love are with you and your family. When my Daddy died just shy of 91, it was sad for us to lose him but we could surely celebrate a life well lived. I hope your wife feels that way about her beloved Grandmother, and I wish you all peace.

Thanks again for the expressions of sympathy. It means an awful lot.

Still no word on funeral arrangements yet. My wife will go for sure. We're concerned about whether my father-in-law will be able to make it to the funeral. He is still recovering from bladder cancer surgery. (Both my dad and father-in-law have bladder cancer issues right now. Dad just had his surgery Wednesday, FIL had his last week.) So, if you would, hold additional good thoughts for Maureen's dad so he'll be in good enough shape to travel to MO from FL for the funeral. Thanks to all in my famABBly!!
