Humongous bummer! Peter Boyle was fantastic in everything that I saw him in. I guess my favorite role for him would be "the monster" in Mel Brook's, "Young Frankenstein". I think he very nearly upstaged Gene Wilder in that one. I will miss his talent and humor.

In Young Frankenstein the scene where a blind Gene Hackman invites him in for soup and keeps missing the soup bowl and pours the hot soup on his lap. The facial expressions just cracked me up.

I was just watching ELR reruns last night, the Christmas Toaster episode.

Cracked me up when he responded to his wife's comment about being a trophy wife;

"What contest in Hell did I win?"

R.I.P. Mr. Boyle. You will be missed.

Isn't he the guy who said "walk this way", which inspired the Aerosmith song??

I also enjoyed Peter as the monster in "Young Frankenstein", but I also loved the skit he did with John Belushi on SNL, "Dueling Brandos"- extremely funny!

I was sorry to hear of his passing. Funny man that truly knew the art of comedy.
It's all timing and he had it. He will be missed.

Never was much of a ELR fan, but recently saw Boyle again as Lazlo in "Where the Buffalo Roam"..He was just such a great and intense counterpoint to Bill Murray's HST. RIP..
