looks to be the same guy who had it up for sale months ago. it was discussed here previously. http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=v iewthread&tid=44547#pid1017371 just realize that he's selling just the collar yoke and not the collar with the peacocks. his first picture is a bit deceptive - makes you think you are getting more than you are. as with anything of this nature buyer beware!

It's a real part of the shirt...not the design portion granted, but still part of the shirt. I know where the side panel went but never knew the other sleeve cuff had been sent to Galadrielle. That's nice to know. If you want to own a piece of the shirt without the design, then I suppose this is your chance. I'm just wondering into how many more pieces this shirt has been divided!!!

Definitely legit. Vinny, the seller is a real cool guy. If it helps any, this is the actual yoke from the collar, you don't have to take my word for it, but I am 200% positive it is.

I remember about 3 months or so ago he put just the collar up on eBay but it was not for auction. He later emailed me to say he put it up there so people would be aware it is still around and somehow he knew a guy who was making replicas or something.

Duane's shirt is one of the more interesting rock memorabilia stories I have heard-who would've thought this particular shirt would be divided up like this, & be in the hands of countless people?

Just imagine if one of your old, run down clothes were actually sought out. lol

Pam is 200% correct. I don't know Vinny but I have a couple friends that know him. It's real

As far as replicas are concerned, One of Zebos partners have made some henley shirts with the peacock on them. Here's one in background of this pix

Nice looking shirts with the pheonix like Duane's "Layla shirt", have to get in touch with Zebo down there in Fla. and see if they are available for sale.

Hi All
Vinny here, owner of Layla shirt collar, and yoke portion up for auction.

To all who have written me, and for all the kind words here..I thank you.
Also..thanks for the bids...should get interesting at the end

After reading all the postings here on the auction, there are just a couple of items i would like to address and clarify, to help assure everyone this is legit, and answer any questions.

First I would like to apoligize if I didn't make it %100 clear that the yoke portion, and not the collar section was up for auction...I meant to decieve no one. My wife pointed the same thing out to me after she read it, but i had such a quick bid on it, i could not revise. I do state in the description that I have no intentions of selling the collar, it was only in the main picture for visual reference, but I could have made it more clear.
I would grab somebody by the yoke if I caught them trying to sell something that would discredit Duanes name...let alone me. As I say..it would sicken me.
And I would get confrontational with anyone who would suggest this, as I feel so strongly about it.
I agree though BUYER BEWARE, but that also means be sharp, and know the real deal when you see it.
And this is it folks.
I truly just want to pass this on to another fan. I have all I need for the most part for my collection. And I have the collar...one piece of the shirt is enough for me.
I am also happy that you all know now that Galadriel has gotten a piece...Kathy went to great pains to get it to her..Bless her.

Also...ALL...Contact Zebo, get one of these henly peacock shirts..they are awesome!!
Zebo just moved his shop, and has a new #..but you can get him.
The artist for the shirt Kim H. is in Chicago, he also could be contacted...email me if you want his #...I have his ok to give out. They will have a website soon..Stay Tuned!
[Ok gang..that all said..have a Happy Holiday!!! Here comes the Beacon right around the corner!!!
Should be a party!!...
Any questions are most welcome, and will be answered.
The music is still the most important thing..I listen to Duane constantly...and the hair on my neck and arms still stand at attention when he plays...
Peace
Vinny..NYC

SkyPuppy, there were some folks here in the forums who know you or are familiar with you and told us days ago that you and the auction were legit, and that you are a true Duane devotee. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! Come back and see us again! Oh, and congrats on the auction. Looks like you got a decent bid for the piece.

Hey Big Dave...
It is long, long overdue that I get to finally meet you all. Without anyone really knowing me, my first impression might be one of a Capitalist trying to make a buck off the sentiments we have torwards a fallen hero. But "with the help of true friends" who do know me... and sang my priase, my true intentions were revealed..thanks guys and gals.
There is hardly a day that goes by that Duane Allman does not enter my consiousness.
Either by visual reminders that I have..or his music playing in my home, and studio. I take it all in like the air I breathe...I need them both to survive.
As far as the auction goes..lol..The winner was trembling when he wrote me after the auction, and you would all be happy with who wound up with the Yoke...he is most worthy, and his identity will remain a secret..per his request. But he is one of us!
You might also like to know, 25% of the money I got for the auction is going to charity associated with Sloan Kettering Hospital for Childrens Cancer here in NYC...myself being a cancer survivor from '99.

Some have asked why I have put my identity on the line, and expose myself with my collection, after all the stealing, and planning to steal the shirt, and anything else they might...?
Those who know me VERY WELL, will laugh at the thought of anyone trying to steal from me. It's been tried. They still can't walk. Not Macho posturing...just the facts. I grew up on the Streets of NYC through the 60' and 70's...and we wont abide such behavior as stealing a mans prized possessions.
I would be like John Wayne in "The Searchers"...a critter that would not stop tracking to the day THEY Die!. Any Questions?
I plan on getting to know all of you over time, and anyone going to the Beacon this March from here....let's hook up!
Hoping Zebo, and Kim H. DO make it in for this one..you promised guys!!!
Planning a party or 2 this run, and I am here and now posting an invite to any who would like to attend.
More Soon on that one!
Happy Holidays All!
Peace
Vinny

Vinny, thanks for the party invite. I doubt I'll make the Beacon this next year. I'm putting a child through college and saving what spare cabbage I have for WaneeFest07, which will likely be 3 or 4 weeks after the Beacon run. Too much for me, financially, in such a short time frame. I would like a rain check though, if possible. There wil be other opportunities to meet up, I am sure. PEACE....and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Cool, I look forward to the day.
Want to be touched beyond words?
Check out the last posting under Duane, in the forum....from the wife of the truck driver whom which Duane "allegedly" hit..
Peace
Vinny

You mean unlike all the others who have written about it for profit in books they've sold? And it sounds, from what this lady has written, that some of the information that's been disseminated over the years is less than accurate. I would think the fans would be interested in what she has to say whether money was involved or not.

Not at all, BigAnn, I was referring to the ebay sale. The difference between the books and this, is that the books were created from memories and recounts. The clothing and memoribilia items were likely given around back in the early 70's to friends and such of the band, to have as a personal momento. Now they go to ebay. And something about taking a shirt apart to shreds is pretty strange in itself. I'm sorry, the 25% cancer contribution is honorable and kind, the 75% off a shred of a shirt is to me, morbid and profiteering, not the seeing that a fan gets it as stated. Sorry, this is my opinion only and means NOTHING
