I have been going to ABB shows for more than 35 years and have received many shows from tapers. This was the first year i took my 15 year old son and it happened to be on March 13, 2006 which was the anniversary show of the filmore. I contacted this person Erik Webber and even sent him blank cd's. He contacted me a few times with excuses and then finally on August 3, 2006 he emailed to say he has every beacon show plus DVD's to send me and all he has to do is go to the post office. It is now December 7, 2006 and I am still waiting. My now 15 year old thinks I am full of it and that we will never see these shows. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to contact me at Hairsystem@aol.com
Avid ABB fan

Maybe you could get it from someone else without butchering some other guys name on the internet.I am sure I have accidently screwed folks over not sending shows but it was never intentional.

While I agree about the name thing, he did say he had numerous contacts with him over a pretty fiar period of time.

It would have been much smoother to just pust an ISO in the trades.

Or keep an eye out, this has been offered many times.

True Ron,its unfortunate that he did not receive his shows, that I agree .but several good folks on this site have spaced out sending me trades and I just wrote it off as just that spacey behavior. I did'nt make my first post on this website butchering some guys name nobody here has heard of . I am pretty sure Erik Webber does not have some scam going so he can get people to send Blank cd's.

Nice #1 Post

I don't know, Neil.

If those are TY discs from Taiwan, or the sacred Blue Fujis, the guy could make some serious money.

And don't start on the "magic stamp" aspect of it.

and thats cause your a kind Brudda Ron...... so no need for the good name Erik (it should be a C) Webber to be butchered, unless he has all the Blue Fujis stashed

Erik, I believe in you! Otherwise the world just grew darker and meaner knowing you willfully are bogarting all the Blue Fuji's.

To be continued...........

Well he didn't post this in the Vines or Trades so it will get minimal attention up here anyway. I know that name from somewhere- Erik Weber. Unless he has the infamous addee for the burned down house I say give the guy a break & search out the shows somewhere else. Hairsystem is obviously new at getting shows. When you're new it is easy to get fired up over trades/ b&p's not going right for a show you absolutely want to hear again. Consider this Hairsystem's learning curve.

Peace~!

I have a Bose stereo system and many blanks I play in it do not play correctly, either will not play at all, or when I go to forward tracks it gets stuck and will not play. I don't know if its the disks or the player. I have a feeling its the system though because it also happens with certain "professional" cds. A prime example of this is my Wintertime Blues cd which takes a while to register the first song, and then when I go to forward the songs, it takes up to 5 minutes to register sometimes.

By reading the previous posts, it shows that the good folks on this site can make it happen. All it takes is a little patience. Things will work in your favor. Maybe asking how to correct the issue would have been a more peaceful solution.

burning which discs...

media type mostly makes a difference in longevity before they start to exhibit errors... and since most folks keep their shows as audio (and don't use secure rippers) they'll never know until the discs starts skipping or something...

as jim said... systems can be picky about what types of media they will read... I have a sony dvd player that won't play any burned cd's at all... but it'll play burned dvd's all day long... and some brands of discs (or fake TY discs - some tawian, and other, manufacturers fake the manufacturer code to look like official TY discs) can have bad runs where a number in the stack can be of inferior quality...

this can also happen if your system is used for other things while burning (it shouldn't happen but it can)... a good system won't have a problem but most people have no idea if their system is really any good (for them "it works" means its "good")...

I understand this... just like people writing directly on the discs... I don't personally care, but it is considered bad etiquette... to each their own... most of these are why I almost always only trade in FLAC...

your too much smarter then I am for me to get when your kidding...

FLAC has the internal checksums built-in so you don't have to worry that generations of people (with different levels of knowledge) are ripping on varied equipment with unknown error rates... not to mention the internal tagging which is so convenient... none of this can be accounted for on audio CD's (reliably anyways)
