Yeah, I agree. The Red Sox look good. Your guys will fight for the wild card. And not get it.

No.

Now about them Phillies

Croky called me the other night to tell me they are going to win the Series

I did not agree with that assessment

The Phillies have a good enough offense, but, just like last year, pitching will be their problem. That isn't unlike the Mets. The Mets offense isn't as good as Philly, but their pitching, and in particular their bullpen, is better. It should be a closer race than last year unless Hamels arm falls off as I expect it to do in June. He has never pitched more than 152 innings in any pro season. Hard throwers who don't have many innings under their belt and haven't built up any stamina seem to have problems. Think Prior, Wood and go back about 45 years to a young Roger Clemens.

It may be that Atlanta's the team to beat in the NL East. Their pitching is much better than the Geritol set in NY, and the Phillies. They don't have as much offense as the other two. But you can't win every game by having to score 7 or more runs.

I don't see it this year, but I think that next year they will be the team to beat unless Philly and NY do something about their pitching. I think the Braves young players need a year to gel.

Cox has the best bullpen he has probably ever had. It's gonna be interesting to see if the Mets geezers make it 'till September.

Duque? Unless they don't use him in exhibition games, he won't last thru spring training!

So far it doesn't look like I'll make it.

Hard to swing the time away from work (but 'eff that!), also the travel logistics ain't working out.....so far.

Haven't given up hope though, still working on it.

On a brighter note, I may have talked my 'better half' into attending Wharfst07k

Now there's a trivia question: Name a Yankee player named Frank.

Frank Crosetti. On the other hand, there was the Yankee Killer, Frank Lary. God, I must be old.
Crosetti is the only one I could come up with also. And yes, you're old.

Just look at the company you keep.
