Utley agrees to seven-year, $85 million extension with Philly.

I think it's a damn good move by the Phils...... Utley is a good centerpiece player who is young and at a very shallow position. He's probably the best all around 2B IMO.

Anything under 100 million these days seems like a steal it seems.

I thought it was a smat move on their part too. You look at the contract it is a great deal for the Phillies. It really doesnt become a factor until the last year. I wonder if they have a buy out on the last year? I didn't read that.

Utley gets a $2 million signing bonus and salaries of $4.5 million this year, $7.5 million in 2008, $11 million in 2009 and $15 million in each of the final seasons.

Yes Uncle Chuckie, please set us up for fantasy baseball again. Some years it's a helluva lot better than reality baseball.

I agree it makes the long season a lot more entertaining. Makes you pay attention to what is going on in both leagues. I learned a lot about a whole bunch of players.

Live draft sounds good. Just need to get everyone coordinated. How long does draft take? We didnt do live last year. I think that would really be cool I hope we can make this work!

What is everyones best time to do this?

Rob(cupofjo)

EST: MO/TU/TH 6:00 pm to 11:30 SU/WE 7:30pm to 11:30 FR/SA 6:00pm til whenever

Sorry RoB

I am thinking maybe a Sat night??

It will be pretty tough for EVERYONE to make it I know.
But you can stil "prerank" your players as would would with an Autodraft.

I would have to move quick though. I imagine the Sat Pm slots get booked up quick.

So if yo prerank players and you cant do live draft it will draft players according to how they are ranked by you?

Exactly.
There is a default ranking, but it does not take into account spring training injuries and such.

Schweet

Just a quick vote... Do you guys want 10 teams with a small roster, or 12 teams with a larger roster?? ( Only difference would be more of a bench)
