hmm, what team just stockpiled a load of good young arms to use as trade bait...?

I woudl rather the Yanks get Santana though.
Best pitcher in the game, IMHO

And the Yanks luck aint too good with Florida pitchers

The Yankees haven't had luck with many pitchers from anywhere. I think they need to replace whoever is doing their talent evaluations. They need to spend a little more time looking over medical histories.

Did someone say Carl Pavano?

To quote the Wharfmeister, Eggs Zakk Lee.

eFFFFFF Pavano

Efffffff oTfffffffffffffff

eFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF ffffffffffffffilmDude

Huh?

He cant handle the truth OTF

Now this doesnt make any sense. I guess he wasnt watching what was happening with pithcers this off season! He could have easily made more than that.

I guess he would rather piss it away

He wasn't a free agent. If Willis stays healthy, with incentives he will be in position to surpass the $6.5 million salary earned by the Chicago Cubs' Carlos Zambrano in 2006. That's the most money ever for a starting pitcher in his second year of salary arbitration. Last year Willis made a base salary of $4.35 million to break the record for a first-year arbitration eligible starter held by Toronto's Roy Halladay. If he keeps going like he has been and the market stays like it is for pitching, rest assured he'll get a bigger-than-big payday when he hits the open market...question is will be have a "B" or "NY" (choice of two colors/styles on that one) on his hat?

Oh I see. That makes sense now.

I would think you could throw the Angels and both Chicago teams into that picture too.

Maybe Toronto?!? They sure have been spending!

Now that Hurt!! But I won't miss a season and a half over it!!
The wussiest Italian I ever saw.
He will never live down what he pulled here.
He's worse than Ed Whitson,..at least Ed went out and TRIED!
I too would love to have Santana instead!!
He is the only pitcher with the better second half record than Pettite!
That would be one hell of a cherry picking

I just cant believe they are giving him another shot this spring.

He is going to get his money either way,so just give it to him and send him on his way.

He is just hogging up a roster spot for someone more deserving.

Well, they could let him pitch in spring training, compete for a spot. If he comes out of spring training looking ok, trade him even if you just get some scrub minor leauger for him. Somebody would take him the way pitching is going these days. It seems a tad ridiculous to cut pitchers these days since their worth is so inflated.

The Yankees are getting younger? Is Rizzuto making a comeback?
