Threats get you nowhere around here.

And I thought we were supposed to be the ones who were "easy to set off".

Oh, you think this is me set off??? No, No, No,..you haven't even seen that yet...and you really don't want to. This is me still under control. Please, lets stop now. I really don't want to get to that point. I really don't. But you guys are pushing it.
So, I will be the one to take the high road here, and make one attempt to stop this particular feud....ONE attempt.

Peace All

Ok Lets get his back on topic!

Lyle Overbay signs 4 year 24 million dollar contract.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2731200

Toronto is doing a nice job of locking up all there players. They may spend a little more now but in the long run it will be cheaper. AL east is going to get tougher.

The last baseball/player agreement, which included making sure the teams benifiting from the luxury tax are now being forced to put that money back into the team, which is what the spirit of the plan was in the first place.
KC, I guess is one of the best examples. Toronto is going to be very tough again this year too, your right.

If Boston's starting pitching is everything they can be, they will be tough again..but they have no bullpen. I think they shold have kept Papelbon as closer. But hey, I'm a Yanks fan. I'm not complaining.

Toronto tries hard, but don't have the financial resources of Boston and New York. They need to keep trying to lock up young players before they get too expensive. One disadvantage that they have to deal with is that the players are paid in American dollars which has an unfavorable exchange rate for Canada right now.

I didnt even put that into the equation but you are right! Rogers Communication owns them(Canadas largest cable provider) so I dont think money is a big issue.

But I'm sure it played a big part in Montreal.

They are difinately stronger if they keep Papelbon as a closer.

I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to the Yankees..ok.
I only just got back from working on a Mini Series about the Bronx Zoo in CT for 6 weeks as a consulant. I worked on For Love of the Game w Kevin Costner as a technical advisor Names on the credits if you want to doubt me) You gentleman have obviously never played a game of sports in your life. The banter that goes on on the field is unmerciless..Ive been filming it for 20 yrs!! No one is worse than Jeter!! I thought I could carry over that kind of humor here. I thought wrong. But that's all it was.
And next time anyone wants to tell me I have no class, and I dont know what I'm talking about, and I run my mouth. That, you do to my face. have a nice night

whoop-de-freaking-do..... Hey guys! He got his name in a movie and he was a consultant on a cople of Yankee games. You want a cookie or something?

Listen, obviously you missed why we called you classless. Papi and Tito had potentially life threatening illnesses. You could have said "papi sucks, tito has no brain, schilling is done and varitek couldn't catch a beach ball" and none of us would have really thought twice about it. That's standard operation around here. Do you really think that on the field Jeter would come up to Trot Nixon and say "hey, you guys suck so bad that we put Tito and Papi in the hospital......eat that". Come on. Life threatening illnesses transcend the game of baseball, but i guess you missed that too.

Second, keep your name dropping out of here. It's worthless to the rest of us around here and myself.

With the sox bullpen you never really know. The rookies they had last year could step up big this year or they could flop. Tavarez could return to form or continue to blow it. I forgot his name, but the guy from Japan could be a huge lift. The interesting thing to watch will be Joel Piniero, they could possibly try him out as a closer. It's been mentioned that Papelbon could return as a closer but they seem to prefer him as a SP.

Sorry, you did get robbed. Ritchie Phillips blew it, and he's the first to admit it..not that you care much. Everything went the Yankees way for a while there. You need some luck to win, and they had their share for a long time. The last 6 yrs have brought us back to earth some. But I lived through a Dynasty...never thought that could ever happen again in Baseball. But I'm getting hungry again!!
