Hello everyone and Lana @Rowland thanks for everything while I recover from triple bypass. Back in 1972 there was a band on Atlantic called Ramatam. The press gave it some coverage due to the fact that it was Mitch Mitchell's first new band since the death of Jimi Hendrix. Tom Dowd produced the first album and the lead guitarist was a woman named April Lawton. If you were around back them you never heard playing like that live from a woman. I'm not a sextist but April took a lot of flak about being a transsexual. I've been friends with her for 18 years and she was ALL woman and loved Tom Dowd. She knew everyone when she was playing music. But my friend died on thanksgiving ,just a few days ago. I'll miss her dearly and if you remember whom I'm talking about put on the vinyl, pour a drink a raise your glass to April and Tom. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about this and sorry for your loss. I have the album In April Came the Dawning of the Red Sun - if I can get the turntable working, I'll play this in her memory. Peace on you.

Sorry to hear about the passing of April Lawton. Remember seeing Ramatam back around '71/'72. They were a good band, and April was a helluva of guitarist.
