This is a "Play all Night" pic

the first thing I thought when I saw this pic was he was in the middle of the YDLM solo.

the person in the front row covering her(?) mouth in awe.

God, what a picture.

Gaston, thanks again. Unreal.

Thanks for sharing so many of the photos Gaston.

for sure. I think of the dude all the time.

I don't know, maybe I'm stuck in a time warp or just gettin' old but I'm really sorta hung up on the original line up. I can't get over that show you sent me. The dude smokes.

down at Narragansett Beach, back in the mid-70's, someone wrote "Remember Duane Allman" on the beach wall. I took a picture of it. It's framed and on my living room wall.

people just looked at that guy with a guitar in his hands and couldn't believe what they were hearing and looking at. Almost in reverance. Like watching some secret unfold.

Good Lord.

Thoroughly cosmic -- I've ceased being amazed at the gems that are unearthed of Duane & the early days of the band -- just an awesome, awesome candid.
Once again, MANY thanks Gaston -- this place is just so cool -- you should put these in the GPG too! That's the beauty of it -- the first G is interchangeable, for you or Greggswoman!

First of all: thank you so much, Gaston and all the brothers and sisters that share such wonderful info and beautiful pictures.

You know, I'm one of those people that meditate, believe in reincarnation, healing prayers etc. In fact I've been teaching the stuff for almost 20 years now. I have met amazing people, among them a few that in my social world are called saints. Krishnamurti; Ammaji; Grace; Swami Chittananda; and others.
I have since long considered Duane a spiritual teacher. I would hesitate to call him a saint. But seeing that I am far from the only one that he has deeply affected and keeps on affecting, and understanding from Randy's book how much he accomplished, how uplifting his presence was, well, he must have been close.

Even when I was 20 I intuitively understood somehow that he could not stay on this plane(t). I mean, when you reach the point where your fingers aren't needed to play the guitar anymore, that means you're finished here.

For those interested in the issue, here's the link to a conversation about music and the limits of beauty:
http://www.petervankan.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=89&Ite mid=68

Isn't it amazing and a blessing to have the web and see all this stuff from the past arrive in the present ? Like a time machine.
OK, back to work; greetings from Holland y'all.

I agree. While the other lineups have been good to amazing, I don't think any have recaptured the fire and passion that characterized the originals.
