I was known his name and death by very short article on Japanese music magazine.
That days, I didn't know his name, of course Allman Brothers Band neither. Just only 13 years old and my favorite music was The Beatles.
Later, I was so shocked by Cream farewell concerts boradcasted at TV, and I started to chase the music of Eric Clapton. Then I was 14 and it needs more one year to start listen to Duane's play.
Derek & The Dominos - Layla album- , ABB - Live at Fillmore East album - , I was knocked down by his play and reminded me of the past article of his death.
When I first listened to him, he was already pasted away. Really sad experience.
Also one years later, Eric Clapton came to Japan for his first Japan tour, it was 1974, far long ago.

Just a year ago, I and Colin (harvey) were discussing and investigating about ABB 7/21/'71 Central Park late show whether this source is really from this show or not.
I was listening to "Revival" from this show again and again, and I was falling down into sleep at my chair -- saw a dream -- Duane appeared with smiling, "Hey man, listen again to Gregg's vocal, he sang as Central Park, don't you? Thanks man", only he told me and disappeared. Then, I also reminded him walking at Narita airport with Eric at 1974 and I felt I stealth recorded their show that year ----- I woke up sooner and recognized just only a dream, yes, he never come to Japan, he already pasted away at 1971, he couldn't walk with Eric at Narita. I found there are some tears in my eyes..........
Anyway what he told me in my dream was true, Gregg was singin' "in Central Park" at Revival from that show.
It was Oct. 29th 2005.

Now I'm listening to Central Park late show with my whole respect to Daune Allman.
I will spend today with some remastering work of his sound source.
I hope he will appear into my dream again.
Duane, yes I'm charmed by you forever.

She was unaware of the date and its meaning, but this morning my wife danced to Live at Fillmore and later sat on my lap while Layla was playing. Wonderful.

Also I found Eric Clapton and the ABB less than 35 years ago. It was great to discover all the footage of him Duane.
He has been like an angel in my life, bringing beauty and inspiration. Thank you Duane.

I miss a truly great player, who contributed so much to my worldy existence, that he will never know of.....and I will celebrate the magnificent music and few choice words he left behind .....
Masa - It's funny - but a few short weeks after Duane left us, he also appeared in a dream to me....he told me he would be on the new album (which he was - it was Eat A Peach) and that everything woudl be alright....
dreams are very special.....

Just me and my guitar today - and the magic of Duane's music. We miss you, brother. Think I'll start with Atlanta Pop.

The sky is crying in Seattle today. I'm gonna turn that around with some sunshine.

Just reflecting and listening to music and relaxing. How many years ago was it? 35? Much too long, and way before my time, but at least there will always be his ever lasting legacy.

While we always tend to observe the date of someone's passing, after this weekend, I couldn't help but have a feeling of celebration. Jam For Duane was evidense that a person lives on in spirit, despite their physical absense. The spirit of Duane Allman was alive in Gadsden, AL this weekend. It was truly magical.

We miss ya Duane.

You know, Randy, after we left the Waffle House and went our seperate ways, it downed on me that no one even mentioned that Sunday was the anniversary day. Why focus on the negative anyway?

And Dave, we were sharing the table with the man that was with him when it happened.
Wonder what his thoughts were on the way home? It was an honor to share the day with him, and you, and the others.
