Have been thinking of this ever since thursday night when I seen Susan and Derek in Boston.
Why not combine the best of both bands There was such chemistry when they boith played together. It is a mach made in heaven
Man that would be a killer band.

Would also allow them a lot more time together. But Im selfish I can't even imagine the music and shows that would come out of that collaboration

Let me know your thought's on this.
The Tedeschi-Trucks Band sounds great to me.

Of coarse you know I'd be for that Larry!!! However, I think from what Susan said in that interview in the Boston Globe, is that Derek has a different feel/taste for music than Susan. She's a blues gal and Derek's band is more World Beat/Fusion, etc. and I know Derek just loves that stuff and his band. I really believe he wants to do more with his band.

I wouldn't mind seeing them explore with it though. With that studio they've had built at their house. (Not sure that it's finished yet?) gives lots of room to do so many creative aspects. You never know what's down the road and it's quite obvious they will have a solid one continue in front of them. Won't be long before Charlie starts picking up the guitar too! LOL! THE ROAD GOES ON FOREVER!!

Maybe they could do an album together?

You never know?
Remeber when the ABB was formed Duane told Gregg he wanted him to play The Hammond B3 amd he was shocked but dug right into it and look at him now.
The rest is as they history

I've learned to never say never. But the possibilites are more than a bit interestin!!

Seeing the show tonight. Does anyone know if there is a 3rd band opening? Tickets say 6:30 but Nokia web site says 8.

Don't know. But I would call. It seems every venue has been different and you wouldn't want to miss one note.

I believe 6:30 is when they open the doors and 8:00 is showtime. You might want to check to make sure, but that's the way I understand it,and am planning accordingly.

I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote and recorded together in the future. I don't know what "the best of both bands" is, but the dTb has been together for a long time (Todd's been in for about 12 years, Yonrico for 11, Kofi for 7), and now it's really hitting its stride. Derek's not about to change that, and it's true that he and Susan play very different kinds of music.

I have always thought a great album name for a Derek/Susan project would be "Trucks' and Guitars". I believe someone used to post under that name.

I'll be seeing them tonight at the Nokia and can't wait. It's gonna be a blast. Derek will have the space to take total control. Also it will be my first time seeing Susan with her new band (with Ron Holloway, yeah). Can't wait.

PLease PLease don't hate me.. But I don't think Susan is that great... I have seen many other female vocalists who at least rival if not beat her. They may not be as well known but I enjoy their voices more. I think the blues is something that has to come from the soul and you have to live the blues to sing the blues...Susan said in an article she didn't even listen to the blues until she was in college.......A lot different than a little known singer named Tanya Shylock who can sing anything and has the spirit of the blues inside her and has since she was young....not bashing just commenting!

As a person who doesn't normally enjoy female vocalists (don't hate me ), I will say that Susan Tedeschi has become my favorite vocalist, period. Her soul, grace, and vocal control are beyond compare. If anyone who has seen her live would say that she's "not that great", they would lose all credibility with me.

The comment about having to "live the blues" to sing them is **** . You either have a great voice, or you don't. Steve Winwood sounded like a grizzled soul man at 15 years old.

Have you seen Susan? Especially with in the last 9 months? Everything has expanded with Susan since I've seen her last Oct. She's grown and blossomed so much.

I've seen and heard more than my share of female vocalists, but this isn't a pissing contest, I'm just stating my opinion. And in my opinion, to say that Susan isn't that great and that there are "lots better out there", is silliness.

Saw her in Atlanta ..she did feel so bad... Saw her at Wanee........I think she is a good female vocalist. I would drive to see her certainly. It's just hard for female vocalists in general to generate a huge following...... and I just think other female vocalists dont get the recongition they deserve...Check out Grace Potter or Tanya Shylock or Jennifer Hartswick

DANCINGGIRL....you know that I love ya,Sweetie,so don't take this personally......
but I don't think that ANY female vocalist/guitarist can hold a f'n candle to Miss Susan!!
And believe me.......I HAVE seen alot of women "blues" performers in the past & present!
She completely blows me away on stage & she is a wonderful person to meet & hang with, too!
And when her & Derek are on stage together........the chemistry is WOW!!!

I've been a fan of Susan for many years & she just keeps gettin better & better,IMO!!
