Just found this on the Stones message board. This guy seems to be a pretty reliable source who is working on the "set" for the upcoming Beacon shows. I can't believe they removed 600 Orchestra seats.
I'm in the upper balcony for 10/31. Anyone else here going to attend this circus??
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm home from another long night of production at The Beacon Theater, NYC. The Theater has been almost completely revamped. 600 seats have been removed and movie making equipment takes up a lot of space. There is so much equipment that almost everyone should expect limited views.

THIS IS NOT A CONCERT!! THIS IS A MOVIE SET!

They built a very wide catwalk going most of the way into the orchestra.

There are boom cameras and rolling tracks for sweeping arc shots. So many lights that they had to bring in air conditioning trucks, taking up two lanes of traffic, to keep the temperature down. I have been coming to this theater for decades and it is a maze inside.

I was told it would be the normal length setlist.

There were hundreds of union crew local 1 and teamsters as well as production staff.

I got to speak to The Boys and The Crew and everybody is excited. They will be driving down to Atlantic City today and coming right back.

Tonight they performed a great rendition of Satisfaction and the following:

Beast of Burden, Paint It Black, Tumbling Dice, Honky Tonk Woman and other mainstream songs.

Lorne Michaels made an appearance.

I tried to find the time to talk to Marty (director) to let him know of my dissatisfaction of the choices casting made with respect to The Shidobees selected - younger, newbies and republicans!

Certainly NO CAMERAS are allowed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday night's show is part of Bill Clinton's 60th birthday party weekend. Bet he has a good seat without sight restrictions.

Sounds to me like anyone within camera shot in the audience will be a hand picked pretty face. I only say this because a recent Robert Plant show I saw telecast, when the camera went into the audience there was some good looking young model material on camera, and way overdressed from the crowds I'm used to running into at shows. Or maybe I'm just going to the wrong shows?

I entered their contest to win tickets through their fan club - no dice. While watching their boards for their 'staff' to post when they'd called all winners for the contest, I read alot about these Beacon shows from all the posts. Apparently, on another Stones fansite not affiliated directly with the band, people actually sent in photos which the film crew (Marty Scorsese himself!?) hand picked, to then have these folks populate the first few rows. It doesn't sound like hot chicks in the front row will be any fluke whatsoever whenever this "Stones @ the Bigger, Bangin' Beacon" or whatever the hell they end up calling it - comes out.

I'm in agreement with the past couple posts and I'll add this: I think the Stones are just doing this as a publicity stunt. Will they enjoy it? - yes ( I hope). Will the crowd enjoy it, yes. But the idea wasn't born from a conversation between Mick & Keith saying "hey lets go please our fans." It was more of a management issue saying "hey lets play this small venue and make a movie out of it to make people think we still care about them. What? Do we change the set list? No you silly a$$, we haven't changed our set list since the Steel Wheels Tour." Unless someone places tickets in my hand for free, I'll never see the Stones again.

I can beleive it or rather I can see that they may have built some sort of cat walk extended stage over some of the seats like I've seen done at PNC. Either way, it about the film, not the fans.
Not even for free.
