Okay all you people....put on your aprons and fire up the stove, we've officially got the second cookbook underway! Here is the information on how to enter your recipes....for those of you who might want to do so and haven't done it before.

Go to fundcraft.com

Scroll down the page and look on the right hand side until you see the white block where you can enter your Web ID. Type in 21969-06DD

Don't worry about the password....you don't need that one.

When you get to the recipe section, select the section in which you want to enter your recipe....and if you forget and put a meat dish in the appetizer section, don't worry....I can move it.

I have selected the recipe note feature so we can leave a little bit about the recipe, etc. Please remember though, you can only add TWO LINES worth of notes. Last book there was some confusion and we had to edit some information from half a page into a two line format.

Okay, that's all there is to it for now. We're looking at 300 recipes with a deadline of Dec. 5, 2006 for completing and submitting the book.

Bon Appetit!!!!

Below are two worth while musician's funds....both helping musicians who need it and most recently, helping musicians who lost everything during Katrina to get back on their feet. I suggest, as mentioned before, we use the proceeds from the sale of this cookbook to benefit both organizations and with that in mind, propose the following dediction to the book:

A collection of recipes from the Allman Brothers Band Friends and Family, donated to Music Maker and Musicares with thanks to all of the musicians, past and present, whose music has provides the soundtrack for our lives.

Please let me know what you think after you read about the organizations!

MUSIC MAKER

OUR MISSION
Music Maker Relief Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the true pioneers and forgotten heroes of Southern musical traditions gain recognition and meet their day to day needs. Today, many such musicians are living in extreme poverty and need food, shelter, medical care, and other assistance. Music Maker's aid and service programs improve the quality of recipients' lives. Our work affirms to these artists that we value the gifts of music and inspiration they have delivered to the world.

Our mission is to give back to the roots of American music.

Our criterion for recipients is they be rooted in a Southern musical tradition, be 55 years or older and have an annual income less than $18,000.

Music Maker Relief Foundation, Inc. is a tax exempt, public charity under IRS
code 501(c)3.

MUSICARES
The Heart of the Music Community

The Mission
MusiCares was established by the Recording Academy in 1989. It is the mission of MusiCares to ensure that music people have place to turn in times of need. Its primary purpose is to focus the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues which directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.

When jazz legend Woody Herman died homeless and alone after having made a lasting contribution to our culture -- not to mention the music business -- we drew the line. Music people must never be left in the gutter, never be without needed hospitalization or medicine or the basics of human dignity. Not in our prosperous industry, and not on our watch.

At Music MusiCares, we understand that the music business is often better at bestowing fleeting fame and fortune than financial assistance and health care referrals. Everyone from stars and songwriters to engineers and other music industry people can find themselves in financial crisis and in need of a safety net, a discreet helping hard. They may need assistance with a doctor's bill, an AIDS hospice, rehab center, rent check, or just keeping the utilities on during a financial emergency.

Since 1989, MusiCares' Emergency Financial Assistance Program has been helping music people across the country cope with financial hardships and crises. It provides totally confidential crisis intervention, health care referrals and financial assistance. MusiCares' confidential and caring approach allows those in need to seek help with dignity and confidence.

cleaneduphippie put me on to Music Maker....and I thank him for it. Music Cares has been known to us for several years. They've quietly provided payment of some medical bills for people I know as well as assisted in helping them obtain financial aid from other sources. They're both worthy of all of our efforts.

Don't count too much on that ramen noodle recipe.....I told you he had to master the dish first and I've shown him how to cook the things three times already. But for those of you who may not get to see it in print here ya go:

Ingredients:

package of any flavor noodles
1/2 c. water
teeth
1 assistant

Directions:

Use teeth to open pack of noodles and seasoning pack. Call for help because you can't get the packs open. Once opened, place noodles and seasoning in bowl (call for help to ask for appropriate size bowl ) and add water (after calling for help to find a measuring cup)....stir slightly using spoon you were given along with the bowl. Call into other room where the 'information desk' is trying to vacuum to ask how long to cook the noodles. Call out again to ask how long to cook the noodles. Get really ticked off because your assistant cops an attitude and you decide you don't really want the noodles any way and leave the bowl of steaming noodles on the kitchen counter for later clean up. Go pick up McDonalds.

Sounds great! This time, I'll try to have a more worthwhile contribution in the recipe department (better call my grandmother now! LOL).

Both organizations look great. Thanks, Ann!
