More about the show later for now I'll comment, under two hours with encores. Not cool Who. Some of us paid $110 for a ticket. Give me the Allman Brothers Band any day of the week. You always get you moneys worth.

I certainly was not disappointed. I knew the show was going to be short, they never play for more than 2 hours, and they played about 1:56 last night including encore break. This was the setlist:

The Who 9/18/06

I Can’t Explain
The Seeker
Anyway Anyhow Anywhere
Fragments
Who Are You
Behind Blue Eyes
Real Good Looking Boy
Sound Round
Pick Up the Peace
Endless Wire
We Got a Hit
They Made My Dreams Come True
Mirror Door
Baba O’Riley
Eminence Front
Black Widow Eyes
Mike Post Theme
You Better You Bet
My Generation
Won’t Get Fooled Again

Encore

Pinball Wizard
Amazing Journey
Sparks
See Me Feel Me
Tea and Theatre

I personally thought the show was awesome

i'm glad you enjoyed the show--my concern however was not the length of the show but rather, the shoddy sound &the fact that this is not,at the moment a very good band--while i'm a abb freak ilike alot of music &feel great nostolgia for the who--grew up listening tothem at interesting moments in life---last nite ,thelight show notwihstanding, the music was weak.

I found it impossible to understand the lyrics which is tough when you are listening to new Townshend songs, which I found average at best. Daltrey's age is finally catching up to his voice. Townshend can't even pretend to sing high notes anymore. On the other side of the coin, Townshend was rocking and jamming better than I have seen in decades and the light show was really cool and added a lot. The problem with the Who is you never get any surprises. I would like to see them break out some obscure classics like from WHo by Numbers but its not going to happen. For the money they charged, the show should last more than two hours or they should charge less. Waters played over 2.5 hours for less money.

Someone ought to contact the number five guy at MSG and tell him the sound sucked.

Anyone have any connections?

What a shame to se these guys trying to crank it up again only to give a nostalgia show and apparently not a very good one at that.

hang it up or tour solo. The Who is done.

There's plenty of energy. My feeling is that the Who could give their fans a real treat by playing stuff like Dreaming from the Waste or Dr. Jimmy, well-known but slightly deeper cuts. But they are doing what they think they have to to sell out multiple shows. I don't think the new songs were good enough to fill half the show with and it is important to understand the lyrics which you could not do.

Doug

Although the show was a tad short, I thought it was a very good show. I have seen The Who before and this was not my favorite of the shows I've seen. That being said, and considering their age I think the show was pretty darn good. If you were looking for more abstract numbers you would be dissapointed as this was basically a greatest hits type setlist. The sound wasn't the greatest, but I have always thought the Garden was hit or miss with sound. Sometimes great, sometimes not so great.
I do think that if I paid top dollar I might have been a little dissapointed with the length of the show. A bigger beef I would have is with the choice of warmup act. Whoever they were they were the worse noise I ever heard. If the Who are going to give you only two hours they should at least give you a top notch opening act for an hour.

PS - I did enjoy the new songs. Couldn't hear lyrics clearly but the music sounded very Who. I preordered the DVD of the show and will judge the lyrics after I hear them.

Peace !!!!!!

Pete

Oh boy, you're funny man, hilarious. Is it a bad thing that I know him and that he can get me tickets? Oh yeah, and on the subject of the DTB show, he is helping with it. He is the lawyer for MSG and looks over all the contracts and helps to negotiate them. He is helping me do that with the DTB show @ my high school. I also went to the administration, they were OK with it and we have a way to supply the needed 1/3 of guaranteed up front. So, I mean, you can keep on making fun of me, or you can stop responding to some of my posts with nasty comments

by the way i love the who and certainly don't expect them tobe the ABB or any other band for that matter --but when the music is weak, the band is not playing together like a "band",and the sound stinks(&toomany new medicore songs)--the concert is a loser--particularly given the price--have a nice day

You may not have been responding to my post, seeing as I praised the concert, but you were mocking me beucase I know someone in power at MSG. What's wrong with that? Is it because I have a connection and you don't? Does that make you sad? Well if it makes you sad, how about the fact that Chris Berman is my mom's first cousin and we can get sports tickets. Does that make you sadder? Do you wanna cry? You have no reason to hate on me for having connections

Just out of curiosity buddy, what pleasure do you get out of insulting a 16 year old kid who you don't like because he takes pictures with a band you like? Seriously. I'm done responding to your posts. Hopefully you can mature a bit and stop acting like a baby towards me.

I dont know why youre so against me, maybe its becuase I'm yorue age and you want to be the only one our age who really likes this band, but thats not the case, you gotat relax.
