Well we grew up on Long Island with Zebra so it will be fun playing with them. We go on at 3:15 sharp for an hour long set.... see below for the press release and schedules, come on out if you can!

*********************************************************************
This annual two-day Long Island tradition will be taking place on the LI Maritime Museum grounds, located at 86 West Avenue in West Sayville, Long Island, New York. This festival is the largest single fundraising event for the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville, Long Island, NY. The Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Long Island’s rich maritime history and heritage for educational purposes. This year, the 15th Annual Long Island Maritime Museum Seafood, Craft, and Music Festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2006, and Sunday, August 27, 2006. The gates will open at 10:00AM and close at 6:00PM. The music will continue until 7:00PM on both days. The Festival features its indoor and outdoor museum exhibits, as well as over 150 vendors of fine nautical arts and crafts and educational groups, and – of course – huge pavilions purveying some of the finest and freshest seafood available!

Aside from the Gin Blossoms, this year’s impressive musical lineup features rock legends Zebra (best known for their song “Who’s Behind the Door,” they were recently inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame), Shannon McNally (the soulful singer whose hit song, “Now that I Know,” received extensive radio play and was featured on the Sweet Home Alabama soundtrack), Nine Days (whose hit single, "Absolutely [Story of a Girl]," received a gold record from the RIAA), The Invisible (whose hit song, "Fighting with Myself," is currently heard extensively on Island 94.3), Blotto (MTV pioneers famous for such fun-in-the-sun songs as “I Wanna Be a Lifeguard”), and Lucas Prata (his current hit single, "Let's Get it On," is on heavy rotation on 106.1 WBLI, and he was featured on Deuce Bigalo: European Gigolo). Also confirmed are local favorites Seven Turns (the 9-pcs. Allman Brothers tribute band), and Pennsylvania’s own Inishowen (singing maritime music of the seafaring nations on both festival days!)…with more special guests to be announced shortly!

For the children (and the children at heart), this year The Long Island Maritime Museum has added the special attraction of Ye Pyrate Brotherhood, a hardy crew of 17th century buccaneers with a sharp theatrical edge, reliving the days of high seas adventure on the Spanish Main. If you liked Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, you’ll love Ye Pyrate Brotherhood -- check out yepyratebrotherhood.com for more information about these homegrown swashbucklers!

Tickets are $5, and the proceeds will benefit the operations of the museum. Children ages five (5) and under are free (pets are not allowed). For further information about the Seafood Festival or any other related events, please call 631/HISTORY, or visit the Long Island Maritime Museum website at limaritime.org.
