Cool, crowesmule. If you like his Traffic stuff, I think you'll like his newest album About Time. It has a very Traffic like feel with some world music influences, particularly in the rhythm/percussion department, and also features Karl Denson on sax & flute on 2 songs each. Do yourself a big favor and skip the original audio only release in favor of the CD re-release which comes with a bonus DVD with 3 performances, and the original CD has been re-mastered in Enhanced Stereo. BUT IMO the 3 AUDIO only bonus tracks are worth the price of admission ALONE for this re-release These 3 audio bonus tracks are "Dear Mr. Fantasy" (Live), and "Why Can't We Live Together" (Live) both from the Sonoma Jazz Festival and Austin City Limits Festival respectively, and a studio version(3 piece band w/Steve playing bass with B-3 pedals as on last couple of tours) of Voodoo Chile with Jose Neto on guitar that simply SMOKES! Way different than Jimi's original VC which SW played keys on.

This About Time re-release is only $6 dollars more and worth every penny for bonus material alone.

I hope he comes to Hotlanta! I saw Winwood in the 90s at Chastain Park, an intimate outdoor venue in Atlanta. What a great concert! Love Traffic and Winwood

About Time has become the "most-listened-to" album in my collection over the last couple of years. Received one of those Superfly Samplers at a Jazzfest Mule show a couple of years ago with a cut from About Time. Really dug it and bought the album. I wore it out and bought the re-issue. I can't say enough about the album. Its the perfect summertime disc for me. Great chillin, groovin, cruisin music.
And I saw Winwood for the first time last fall at The Bowery. What a great CD, what a kick-ass band, what a legend. He is one of the very few 60+ year-old rockers who still has the chops, the pipes, and the song-writing ability. Wish I could catch one of these upcoming shows. Looking forward to new material and hoping this tour will work its way back my way by Spring.

Cool, Mule75.

WOW! Only 1 other person liked About Time .... no, I bet the rest are just speachless. Seriously though, if you gave up on him after all that pop stuff he did, give About Time a listen and I think you'll see that Steve ain't done yet.
