I know I speak for alot people here, in saying that the 6/26/71 Fillmore East is the most sought after Allman Brothers show, that we've never heard! Reason i've always heard, was that they did'nt turn on the tape machine. O.K. and that's probably the case!

But what if it was? Maybe somebody that worked for Bill Graham had the tape, stuck in a box, then got divorced, then left home and left the box behind! Wife sells the house puts alot of stuff including that box in storage for 30 some odd years, until two weeks ago, his son found it and realizes what he has. And now, he wants money!

My question is. In your opinion, how much is a "find" like that worth, and would you contribute to a fund to purchase it? I know I would!

Now please understand that everything i've said has been created out of my brain! No truth to any of it!!!
Just interested in knowing what you guys think? Thanks!

I'd almost be willing to bet that the show WAS recorded and either the ABB or Graham's estate is waiting to release it.

I think someone has this show and doesn't realize it. I'd be willing to fork up some cash for this show. Somebody somewhere has it.

Billl Graham and the ABB were well aware of the significance of this show and its historic value. The Fillmore East did not just go away-- it closed with great fanfare. It is not believable that someone did not record these shows for posterity. Has Butch ever emphatically denied that these tapes exist?? These last shows are legendary and the mystique adds to the legend doesn't it. In answer to your hypothetical question, clayman, i'm sure all of us who dream of hearing the late show would rally around the idea of $$upporting the purchase!!

Judging from what's been said & written, the tape(if it existed) would have to be a partial tape due to it's length.
