i'll take it whatever way i can get it, and obviously that would be without Jerry.

no sense in looking back.....the magic is still there, even without him.

There is no question about that and I fully agree. BUT it will be very cool if this happens at this festival. I love Jerry and realize without him its not the same. But I am also a fan and this coming together would be very very cool.

you are better off with Phil and friends these days then with Ratdog....IMHO.

and i'm better off with the ABB and DTB in A/C that day

and DAVE, if you are trying to convince me to hold onto my GOTV ticket, it might just be working....

Throwing in my 2 cents, I have not seen RatDog this yr. yet BUT have seen them numerous times the last few yrs. I think they are hitting on all cylinders. As far as Phil goes, I love them! man isnt it great that in 2006 we are talking about seeing all these guys still. Life is good

You might have been more impressed with friday or saturday's Beacon shows as opposed to the Thursday show you saw. BTW, what kind of He-man Woman Haters Club president are you?

They are playing with each other. Was just announced yesterday so its not up yet in the bands area yet.

from jambands.com

Rhythm Devils Gather for Vibes

After performing together at the Green Apple Music festival, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann have confirmed that they will join forces again in August. The Rhythm Devils will make their first outdoor festival appearance at the 11th annual Gathering of the Vibes, joining a lineup which includes Bob Weir and RatDog, Keller Williams, Zero, Yonder Mountain String Band, Burning Spear, Deep Banana Blackout and Tea Leaf Green, among others. As previously reported, Gathering of the Vibes will return to Mariaville, NY from August 17-20.

why would it matter if i was a man or a woman saying this? duh. you guys are the root of all evil anyway.

lets see. i've seen Ratdog twice this year, and was bored to tears. Saw Phil four or five times in the past year and loved every second of it.

this is just my opinion. my only point is that if you had a choice from seeing Ratdog on the same night as Phil and Friends, you *probably* would enjoy Phil a bit better since his 'friends' seem to enjoy playing the dead a bit more than Bobby's buddies.

The reunion part seems unlikely unless plans change or folks stay around for an extra day one way or another. As of now it's my understanding that the drummers are not booked for the same day as Ratdog.

That could certainly change.

Actually I think Ratdog has evolved into an amazing band with some wonderful jazzy interpretations of Dead music. I love Phil & Friends too and if you really want to catch the magic go to a Dark Star Orchestra show. Killer ! We're headed to a Cosmic Charlie gig in Athens, GA tonight and they use the Dead's music a a jumping off point for some HOT interpretations of Dead music. Long Live The Grateful Dead !!!!

I did and it sickened me. They are just a glorified cover band in my opinion, talented, but still a cover band. To truly catch magic I would go to see some of these bands instead:

Soul Live
Derek Trucks Band
Gov't Mule
Phil and Friends
Code Talkers
Oysterhead
Allison Krauss and Union Station

Just an opinion and I know we all have em
