Rowland,...Thank you for adding Frankie to the past members list, and Frankie, welcome home brother. Hopefully we can build a little library here for you, so the world can learn of your history with Dickey Betts & Great Southern, The Allman Brothers Band, and The Gregg Allman Band. Love ya bro,...Neil

Welcome Frankie! I had to let Neil have the first post here since it was his suggestion.
Great addition to the forum here. I look forward to getting to "know" you better.

Frankie...we look forward to hopefully seeing you on these pages. We just watched the the Brothers of the Road DVD (Gainesville and the Capitol Theatre) yesterday while at Jacquie's house where we learned the fine art of Jello shot making for our trip to the Beacon in March. It was good to see that again.

Applause and a pat on the back for Tattooneil for getting Frankie rightfully listed here.

BTW, does anyone know which Capitol Theater that show was from, city/state?

Just want to add my hellos to Frank, welcome to the forum -- and ask if any Toler Brothers gigs might ever be in the offing. I really dug the two times I saw you -- at an early Great Southern gig in Lowell Mass. in early 1977 or so, and four years later at Dartmouth College with the ABB.
I think it's great that Rowland and Lana have set you up here in the forum -- and feel at the same time that Mike Lawler and Johnny Cobb should maybe be so accorded as well. The two Arista records you guys played on (actually I guess it was just Brothers of the Road for you, I believe) don't find popular acclaim among ABB fans, but, as time goes on I like more and more of the songs -- they grow on me in the same fashion that Jaimoe described WTWCTODG growing on him. The input you guys had left a really cool imprint on the band (again I didn't think so at first). It's great to see you here, and hopefully Mike and Johnny will be too. Take care bro!

Frankie,
Job well done Neil for getting Frankie added in his rightful place! Frankie it was so nice to meet you in Indianapolis. Hopefully we will meet up again real soon. I tell ya, your brother let me know up front what an awesome drummer you are. He just bragged....I think he is just a lil bit proud of you!!

As far as friends go, Neil is a keeper. He definately thinks of you before himself and that is a very good thing, because when you love someone and become such close friends, it means alot...Neil, you should feel very good to care so much for your friends. You and I will have to get together down the road for another show and just maybe shed another tear!

Congrats on getting your name in it's rightfully owned place!!!

Love to you Frankie,

Miss Lizzy

Elizabeth,...Thankyou so much for the kind words. They are appreciated by myself, as well as Frankie, i'm sure. If anyone knows Frankie, they will know how easy it is to love him. He's just that kind of person, and I truly treasure our friendship. His computer is in storage, otherwise i'm sure he would post here. I'll have to drag his butt over my place for him to post, I guess. Thanks again,...Neil

I saw Dickey Betts and Great Southern early on in their 1st tour I believe, right after the 1st Great Southern record came out. I believe it was around 1977 or so...in Columbus Ohio. I think they played a place called The Agora...not sure.

They rocked. "Out to get me", "Bougainvillea", "Run Gypsy Run", etc, and a few Allmans tunes as well.

At the time I had yet to see the ABB live, but with the twin guitars and twin drummers I felt like I was sort of seeing them! They were a great band!

Toler Brothers, they don't come any nicer than Dave and dan. Marsha and Deb are winners too.

Terri, that was Passaic, NJ's Capitol Theater
