Just wondering, lost interest after the popularity of Babylon, but rediscovered him after "New Day at Midnight" and it turned me around. The last two albums have been amazing!

I love Dobie Gray. Does that count? Help me out here. Not trying to be a pain it's just I'm kinda new to HTW and some of the bands that members mention sometimes. Who is David Gray? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Uhm, I think the Marshall Tucker singer is Doug Gray. David Gray is Irish

He had the smash hit, Babylon back in the late 90's. His two last albums have been amazing.
What turned me around was "New Day @ Midnight"

and now he has released "Life in slow motion"

Both albums will change your perspective on him.. it is not like Babylon rather slower, more vocal and more emotional.

Find him on Live Music Archive....

May I reccomend a great show?

I certainly am a fan! Is he mellonchollie, yes. Is he for everyone? No. Is he a damn good writer? Yes. Is he a great performer? Yes!

I saw him last year? (gosh my memory sucks) Maybe 2 years ago now. He did a very small tour of small clubs in large market areas before his most recent album, LIFE IN SLOW MOTION came out.

I saw him at the 9:30 Club in DC. Let me tell you, The person above could not have been more wrong. He had the best performing voice i have ever heard live. PERIOD. I have seen many singers (been to 85 concerts) and he nailed it that night.

There is a recording of this show, it was nationally broadcasted live through NPR that evening. (Just go to NPRs website and do a search, the concert is stored on their site) Again, the recording is totally different than seeing him live so do not judge it based on the recording.

I love that Gov't Mule started covering his "My Oh My" a year or so ago too!
