It looks like we're going to be able to buy the download or the CD of Warren at the Jazz Fest from munckmix.

Nice post.
I cannot afford to make it there, but should be able to find room in my budget for this CD. |

anyone see a setlist for this performance? The "setlist" icon on the link for Warren's show still says "no info available". ____________________ “Music is music- it doesn’t require technique or expertise as much as it requires sincerity and emotion.”.- Danny Louis |

From my feabile memory....
Patchwork Quilt Glory Road Rainin Pain Down on New Orleans Fallen Down It Hurts Me Too And it Stoned Me Soulshine
I missed a song or two before Patchwork Quilt, and I may have left out one or two and maybe the order is backwards. Whatever...long weekend. ;-) Rainin Pain was spectacular and reached out to a lot of different people....got a huge pop after the "Dubbuya" line. As did Fallen Down and Hurts me Too. Warren broke into And it Stoned me about the time the little rain it was doing on Saturday stopped. He played to a giant crowd, which had as the backdrop one noticeably flooded, abandoned, sad-looking house. The songs Warren played in his set, the sights, the scenery, and the circumstances made for easily my favorite and most memorable (no joke) set of Warren. A lot of friends who've been on the "jesus they played soulshine again" bandwagon, felt lucky to have heard Warren on that day. Pretty incredible. It was like he spoke to New Orleans through his songs.
And, oh yeah, Warren sat in with Robert Randolph to cap off his ELECTRIFYING set with the Doobie Brothers "Jesus is Just Allright" and "Voodoo Child". Warren took backup vocals on the first and a verse or two on the second. I was stuck over in Margaritaville listening to Jimmy Buffet and missed the opening bit of the Radiators, which I heard also featured Warren on a song or two.

Wow, sounds incredible....I've been to the Jazz fest one time in 1997 and have been really thinking of going again someday. So inspiring to hear the city seems to be recovering. Where did 'Mule play over the weekend? In the quarter or right at the fairgrounds? |

Thumbs up to Munckmix, when I ordered the Warren CD, I ordered the Gatemouth CD set with his '04 and'05 shows and they sent that to me already, seperately. Sounds good too! ____________________ Everything dies, baby that's a fact
