That just ain't right... I love TP but is it a shared bill or are they really billed as the supporting band?

It happens because the ABB gets paid.

Tom Petty has requested a few bands to open for his Anniversary tour. Pearl Jam are also opening some shows.

At this point in their careers, Tom Petty is a much bigger draw than the ABB. Doesn't mean better or worse, it just means he sells more.

Well, if it wasn't OK with the band or their management, I'm sure they wouldn't settle for "opening act" status. I'm sure both TP&THB and ABB will benefit from the pairing.

ridiculous? how so? every time the band gets paired with some unlikely act -- lynyrd skynyrd, for instance -- all those people who don't know zip about the band as it exists now get their socks rocked off, and a whole new buncha people discover what we know.

in terms of popularity, hello? Petty sells TONS of tickets. (is it a shared bill? hahahahahaha) artistic legitimnacy? hello?

whether or not you like TP, get a grip, and look at this as an OPPORTUNITY to do something that helps this band keep on headed to YOUR town.

i mean, i appreciate that most of y'all don't take one second to think of this stuff in terms of the realiities of the musiic business, and i understand that like every others ite on the web, complaining is the norm and not the exception, but IF YOU LOVE THIS BAND HOW CAN YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS?

I agree with ron_e. Like it or not, Petty is a much bigger draw and that will get more people to hear the ABB. I love Tom Petty and would be at this show if I could! He has a great band and puts on a fantastic show. It is what it is, and better than no ABB on those dates!

This is one of the reasons why I am trying to make the Pixburg show.

DTb> ABB > Petty looks like one hell of a night to me

Now about that Bobo character
