I don't know what it is.

I complain and complain about Soulshine and set lists, but I always enjoy the shows.

Never once could I ever say that they struck out.

I just don't think there are many bands out there that I would even contemplate going to see more than a time or two or three at most.

There are a lot of good bands out there but none can take me on the musical excursions that the mule can. They are just so cool they are the cat's meow.

somewhere around 25 I believe. But that's not counting all the shows with Warren before the birth of the Mule.

Altogether, almost 50 since 2000. Not enough, that's for sure. Going to Utica for Sunday's show, and am hoping to make it to the May 3 show at Ram's Head. More Mule! More Mule! More Mule!

5. Soon to be six next thursday in Knoxville. The only thing I regret is not getting into them sooner than 2000. I only got to see Allen Woody once. The others were 3 Andy/Danny shows and one with Rob Barracco and Dave Schools. Not to complain though!

Who cares how many shows others have been to.
I didn't know attending Mule shows was a contest.

It's not about a contest. Here's something Warren recently said:

Q: Why are you so devoted to live improvisation on stage the essence of the jam-band experience?

A: We have this audience that comes back night after night. I meet people that have seen 300 Gov't Mule shows, and it's mind-blowing to me. But I definitely don't take it for granted. Plus the fact that we let people tape the shows and trade the tapes. And we have a download site, www.muletracks.com. So every note we play is available. With that in mind, especially, we want to make it as different as possible. It's for ourselves, it's for the audience. We're very lucky to have an audience that encourages us to do this.

Here's a link to the whole interview: http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060425/ENT04/6042 50365/1047/ENT01

I've made it to nine shows so far. I love the Mule. Unfortunately, I made it into the world of Mule after Allen had already passed, but I'll take what I can get.
