John Medeski is my all time favorite, he is just amazing. If you haven't checked out some Medeski, Martin, & Wood you need to do so.

Also:

Herbie Hancock
Page McConnel
Keith Jarret
Danny Louis
Chuck Leavell
Jo Jo Herman
Johnny Neel
Kofi Burbridge
Chick Corea

Definetly...the 2/23/91 ABB show where he sat in was great.

Havent heard his newest album, but I heard it got some good reviews

most of the guys who are already mentioned

Chuck Leavell
Nicky Hopkins
Bill Payne
Rick Wakeman
Chris Stainton

some other guys worth mentioning:

Ed Hawyrsch (of the Black Crowes) (if you could ever hear him)
Tom "T.C." Constanten (his solo stuff is amazing)
Paul Shaffer (his work in the Blues Brothers alone is wonderful)
Ben Folds (he does some really cool fun stuff)
Danny Louis (the more I listen to recent Mule, the more I really love what Danny's doing)
Keith Godchaux (the GD era between 1971-1974, Keith is just beautiful)
Johnny Neel (what a nutjob! I mean that in a good way!)

I'm mostly thinking rock/pop bands, there are tons of jazz guys who are obviously just mind-boggling

I like the fact this thred says "Favorite Keyboardists" instead of Best Keyboardist...

Just because a player might not be one of the 10 or 20 best ever doesn't mean he can't be a favorite of ours...lots of tasty players out there.

Some of mine...

Chuck Leavell
Gregg Allman...yes, Gregg Allman!
Rob Barraco
Jo Jo Herman
Robert Walter
Keith Jarrett
Joe Zawinful
Eddie Harsch
Herbie Hancock
Mookie Segal
Brent Mydland
Bruce Hornsby
Page McConnell
Kofi Burbridge
Rick Wakeman

Organ Grinder Swing by the incomparable Jimmy Smith -- the greatest jazz organ record ever, and truly some of the best playing of a Hammond B3.

Also, if I'm not mistaken no one has said the great rocker/TP's Heartbreakers and session man Benmont Tench.

I love a local NYC session guy who's also in Rosanne Cash's touring band, Brian Mitchell.

And lets not forget British rock & blues sideman NIcky Hopkins and Billy Preston, both of whom graced a lot of Stones tracks (I love Billy P's Hammond solo on "I Got The Blues" from Sticky Fingers.

And Leon Russell! And Professor Longhair! And Fats Domino! And Fats Waller!

Danny Louis is great and all, but he kinda overplays sometimes, and is kind of a dink on stage. Trumpet, Guitar, and Keyboards? I dunno, seems like he tries to steal the show sometimes.

All time favorites are:

Herbie Hancock
Steve Winwood
Gregg Allman
Kofi
Jason from Ratdog is excellent
Robert Walters
Rick W of yes
Chuck Leavell, my all time favorite
