...ok.. vine will be up shortly... just finishing up the Cd labels.

These CD labels can be printed easily directly onto blanks with an Epson R200 CD printer.
You need to get inkjet "hub printable" blank Cds [that means you can print all the way to the Cd hole].

These labels ane NOT the final ones.. we would like to replace a photo or two, looking for sugesstions.
We need a good sharp photo of Peter Frampton with the boys... anyone have one?

Plus the Cd2's and Cd3's do not have the correct setlists on the labels yet, but you can bookmark this webpage and they will be updated with any final photo changes.

Enjoy!

What a stunning effort! Really great work and thanks for sharing this with us.

Any thoughts of putting together some artwork for the CD jewel cases to compliment this collection? Sure would complete an already excellent offering!

This is an ambitious undertaking which I'm sure involved a great deal of work. Many thanks in advance. Nice thing about this place here is that deeds like this don't go unnoticed. Looking forward to this. The artwork is stunning. (Loud applause, standing ovation)

HOLY CRAP !

Total rookie here , just did my first B&P this week.

Please explain to me how ya got the pix on the disc as well .
That could not have been from just a regular printer.

I've got lots of great ABB shots and would like to do something like that.

Sorry ,I don't have any of Frampton , I wasn't at that show.

Check the first post. It was from a special CD printer. Runs about $120-$150, I think.

Also, you need the right blanks that allow you to print to the center punch-out.

But, you're right. This is just an incredibly neat project. Makes me want to go out & get that printer & the right discs. Having this whole set with these prints would be a great addition to any collection. Thanks to all that were involved and also for sharing.

Many are asking how this process is done....

Step 1: Artwork is made in Adobe PhotoShop and saved as a 500 x500 pixel JPEG. All the photos and type are done in layers so you can adjust dates and songs and do a "save as" off of the master template. [the hard part is done. You can right-click and save any of the Cd labels on the webpage. They are already JPEGs and are the perfect size to load into the Epson software.]

Step 2. Load the JPEG image into the Epson Stylus R200 printer software ($50! It's the cheapest printer they make, but it prints onto Cd/DVDs as well as regular paper and photo papers)

Step 3: Insert blank inkjet printable CD into Epson caddy and hit print... that's all folks. Very easy. You have to use specific blank CDs, it won't work on regular blank CDs... they make them in white and silver. The silver ones make the pictures look metallic. I like the white ones better.

The printer is real cheap, they get you on the ink cartridges. It takes 6 colors of ink and they cost about $60 for a complete refill. (On Ebay they run about $30!) You can print about 300 CDs on a set of ink -- so do the math -- you buy more ink and blank CDs than the cost of the printer real fast.

The magic number is 500 x 500 pixels -- 72 dpi. That's the dimension the artwork has to be for the printer to lay the graphic perfectly centered on the blank CD... you don't have to do the artwork in PhotoShop, you can use any program that saves to JPG format... which is the same format for web pictures.

Is 42 Cds too many for a vine? I would think everyone would want the entire run, but we will need to give each person in the vine at least a week to copy all the Cds before sending to the next person. Should I break it into 2 vines -- 7 shows each?

Thanks so much for the info. It's a bit much for me to handle,I'd probabaly figure it out,but struggle all the way with it.
I'll get my brother in law to work it with me.
I only have a few shows and like I said just getting started with the B&P thing ,but I have tons of ABB photos and this is such a SICK way to show off your work.

WELL DONE
and thanks again for the directions.

I don't think 42 dsics would be too much as long as we were given a week to copy them. To me it's like one stop shopping!!

10 DVDs?
Seems like a lot - I already have the first 7 shows in FLAC fitting on 2 DVDs....

Whatever, it's still a fantastic vine concept...

ummm .. 24bit/96mhz FLAC for the DVDs... there a little bit bigger than the 16-bit versions...

One Vine for 16-bit CDs burned as audio
One Vine for 24/96 FLACs

Should we not do the 16-bit CDs as audio (3 CDs per show x 14) and do them as FLAC on DVDs instead. Would be alot less CDs/DVDs... but not sure everyone knows how to burn a CD from FLAC.

for reference: each show in 24/96 is about 5.5 gigs

I cannot burn a cd from FLAC right now but I understand if you need to go with whatever format works best for the majority! Still a great offer!

Burning from Flac is a piece of cake. Install the Flac software, free by the way go to etree and get the link. Select the files to decode, drag to the window of the flac program and hit decode and watch as it decodes each file. Never touched any of the settings or anything went with the default as it set it up on my computer. Hit any button when comlete and burn your wav files as usual.

Great undertaking, thanks for doing this. The labels are great also!!

Might work well if you did small vines to those who reoffer B&P's and new vines. Huge thanks to great folks like you, who record and spread this wonderful music!!!!

I have some shows in 24bit FLAC from last year, but can't seem to do anything with them...I'm probably overlooking something simple?

BTW - I do almost all of my FLAC music listening on a Rio Karma portable player...

Speaking only for myself, I'd be interested in 16bit FLAC shows burned to DVDs (keeping in mind I already have the first 7 shows....)

Additional advise I received was to first set up a folder with the date of the show, copy the Flac files to the folder on the harddrive, then decode it from the harddrive. Faster and less of a problem going direcly from the DVD to the decoder software.
